The Booking.com site on the BA Avios portal states “Rewards will not be approved until 90-120 days after you have completed your stay.”
I noticed they’d changed it for my most recent bookings but these were all made last year and the tracking confirmation emails specifically say 35 days (for all the bookings). Some of the stays that have credited we booked later than the ones that haven’t 🤷♂️

Worthy of note in this regard is that points post under the DATE OF BOOKING with a note of the date posted. So unless you keep a close eye on your balance, you won’t particularly notice the points appear as they don’t necessarily show in recent transactions. I booked an Airbnb in Apr 23 for a stay in Dec 23, the points posted in Feb 24 but dated Arp 23. It took me ages to work out why my balance has increased and eventually found the points posted in April 23.

You can book direct CX AMS-HKG reward flights on BA.com. For example if i search on a random date of 27/03/2024, then it gives me the option for the CX270 direct flight. They use the A359 on that route.
If you’re not finding CX direct flights on the date options you want, then I assume there’s no availability with them
Yep, I just found that … sorry I meant to mention we’re looking for biz tickets – they’re not showing for 27/03/24 so I think it’s safe to assume there is literally zero availability.
I’m starting to think that other than Qatar, long haul redemptions in biz (on other than BA) are extremely few and far between.

This could be a married segments issue.
What comes up if you search BA for AMS-HEL and then HEL-HKG separately?
I can get flights from AMS to HEL, and from HEL to HKG, but the miles price is way higher than the published ‘other airlines’ redemption figures per person in biz … 88,000 + 309,000!

It’d be very interesting to know what referral kickback HfP got on this, considering they’ve now gone quieter than Buckingham Palace on ‘Spare’ … 🙄

I’m still waiting for my bonus (regular and HFP). Chased a few weeks ago and they said that the points would be added by now, but of course they haven’t. What an utter joke – they run this offer to attract customers, and then show how utterly incompetent they are and what a nightmare they are to deal with, thus ensuring that we never use their product again. I might have hoped that HFP would have kicked them a little on our behalf, since it’s damaging their reputation too unfortunately. Will be much more cautious with offers like this in the future.
Agree 100%. Considering HfP don’t do what they do ‘for the love of it’, it’s disappointing to observe the lack of input from them on this lame duck …

I’ve received 1,500 Avios on Monday, but not the 2nd 1,500. Anyone else in this situation? And has anyone managed to get BA to manually award the additional 1,500?
I’m in this situation too, haven’t gotten round to contacting BA yet
thanks glad to know that I’m not alone. I can’t say I’m overly motivated to call BA for 1,500 Avios. Not worth the time and effort
Me too. Has anyone missing the extra 1,500 seen them appear since posting ?
Nope, we have two cards in our house. On my partner’s card, both 1500s appeared on the same day, 90 days after opening. On mine, 1500 Avios appeared after 90 days, no sign of the bonus and now at 110 days.
Whilst I’d normally roll my sleeves up and chase, I really don’t have the appetite for this one, dealing with BA on anything these days is like platting fog … 🙄

50 bonus points for using ApplePay?
I received and registered my card on 10th Aug. I have so far topped up with £300 and spent approx £210. Today I received a notification in the app congratulating me on receiving my Promotion bonus of 50 points.
I know that I registered using the HfP code and I received the T&C’s telling me I would get 1500 avios after £500 spend within 3 months.
Does anyone know what this 50 point promotion bonus is and should I be worried that I am not going to get my 1500 (+1500) when I hit £500 spend in the next few days?I too got the 50 Avios bonus but I believe that was just for adding the card to ApplePay? No sign of any 1500/1500 bonus for me yet – it’s starting to feel this was a lot of hassle for relatively very little gain!

So, one folk, not even plural.
Very useful, thanks so much for taking the time out to be sarcastic … 🙄

As per the terms and conditions which you should have read when you applied for the card;
“For the British Airways Prepaid Mastercard, 1,500 Avios welcome bonus will be awarded to your BAEC account if you have held your Card for 90 days and have spent a minimum of either £500, $500 or €500 in any one currency within 90 days of activating your Card.”
Yet there’s been folks who’ve already had the 1,500 base Avios just days after hitting the £500 spend … so why some and not others?

I hit the £500 qualifying spend over a week ago; I’ve had the Avios for the individual transactions, but no sign of the 1500 target spend Avios. I know the HFP bonus comes after 3 months but how long does it take for the underlying 1500 Avios per the original offer take to post please?

I did an online chat with them this evening and asked them to give me one incentive to stay after a year of probably THE worst service in my 9 years with them … I too got offered the 10,000 Avios for £3,000 spend in three months. I’ve happily accepted, for now anyway.

I tweeted them and before I even received their reply, the 5000 points were in my account. To be honest, it’s very rare I’ve seen points post in my BA account later than around 7am which is when their systems normally update. Me thinks this was done as a one off manual exercise, hence the points posting in the afternoon. Still, they’re there, that’s all that matters 👍

Goodwill gestures fail to be ‘goodwill’ when you have to start chasing them!
Agreed. Also, the text I got (also on 25 March) says:
“We’ll be adding 5000 extra Avios points to your BA Executive Club account *within* the next 6 weeks”
Not *after*, not *at*, but “within*. Even if the points appear by tomorrow (i.e. 6 weeks from 25 March – and I’m not holding my breath!), I’d say Barclaycard’s wording on the text would have been a bit disingenuous at the least.
Excellent point! I’ve just tweeted them to this effect … I’ll report back if/when they reply … not holding my breath.

Goodwill gestures fail to be ‘goodwill’ when you have to start chasing them! And what’s the betting if we do start chasing them, nobody will know anything about it or what to do? Barclaycard have really made a hash of this launch …

I can’t answer the twilight check in question, and I’m guessing you’re travelling on business so cost won’t be an issue, (unless of course you’re the bean counter at your employer).
However, a quick tip for if you’re ever not on business, the tram is extortionate to the airport! We always get off at Ingliston Park & Ride and walk to the airport hotels – they’re half way between the terminal and Ingliston, and the fare difference is £4.20! (£6.00 vs £1.80).

Foreign currency bought via Travelex posted as a cash advance and didn’t earn Avios for me.
You’re lucky you didn’t get charged interest from the purchase date as surely it’s technically a cash advance type transaction?
I had to pay a literally a few £s to BMW Finance a good few years back (£149 from memory) and used my Tesco MC – they charged it as a cash advance as they classed it at using credit to pay credit. I eventually got the charges back from BMW as they conceded their agent should’ve warned me some CC companies do charge these things as a cash advance.

I paid council tax recently.
Avios credited correctly. The points are quite often a day or so behind the transaction.
A very happy council though. Let’s hope they use some of your early payment to fix some of those potholes!
TBH, I’m so used to Amex Avios showing up within an hour of spend posting, I hadn’t noticed that my two previous Barclaycard transactions (only got this card for places that don’t take Amex) hadn’t credited on the day. The points are there this morning so all good 👍
Hear hear to the potholes, and perhaps some litter picking!

… not elsewhere classified
You are overthinking methinks 🙂
Thanks, and here’s hoping – only paid it off for the Avios! Hopefully they’ll appear soon 🤞

I believe the agent is correct – OTP are here to stay. The crucial point however is that you can “remember” a device that you’ve previously already verified OTP with, which is why you don’t get asked constantly when logging in to the app/browser.
There was definitely an issue over the weekend where it simply never remembered the devices, and kept asking you this.
Sorry, missed that bit out – he was adamant I’d get an OTP on every login despite remembering the device. He was clearly out of his depth with the system failure and eager to meet his chat targets by fobbing me off.
It never remembers my phone or ipad, however many times I validate them. I’ve given up hoping it’ll change now!
I get the same when I use a browser to login on iPad or MacBook … thankfully though, the app is behaving, for now anyway!

Definitely seems like their systems are royally goosed!
The agent I ‘chatted’ with Saturday assured me OTPs were here to stay “as per the security reasons” … what??? When I pressed him on it, he quoted it to be part of new regulations and guidelines and how Amex complies with local laws … I’m calling BS on that as finally no OPTs as of yesterday.
App didn’t update this morning with spend from the weekend, even though logging in via browser showed all transactions posted and a completely different balance!
Well worth £250 a year eh?
Stu 38 posts
I’m getting straight in now.
Damn! Still getting OTP, deleted the app, started from scratch, still requiring OTP every login despite ‘remember this device’ being ticked …

Anyone getting into their app yet without OPT requests? Still getting the same issues as yesterday

We were due to fly to YVR this month, booked months ago specifically to try out the club suite on the A35K. BA had other ideas and swapped to YVR to a B772 from 01/03 … we cancelled although admittedly this was as much to do with our vow never to fly in BA’s horrid old style biz cabin as it was to avoid the 777.
I actively avoid Boeings wherever possible, not safety related but simply out of preference towards Airbus from an avgeek point of view.
