I’d decided to clear out my IHG account and stop staying with them. I had 16k IHG points left and there was a redemption for somewhere I needed to be at 17k points.
I planned to earn the final 1000 points from Creation, but I kept checking and the price stayed at 17k for most of February. Last Wednesday Creation sent the points over but when I went to book, the price had gone up to 18k!
The cash price hadn’t changed so far, but this morning the cash price jumped significantly, so I decided to buy another 1000 points and book it.
I know that I should stop looking once I’ve booked something, but I couldn’t help myself… the points price is now back to 17k, even though the cash price is still at the higher level.
I now have 1 IHG point and I don’t intend to earn any more, so I can’t be bothered to cancel and get back the 1000 points.
Get the 1000 back. You never know; under the ‘enhancements’ you might be able to spend it on food & beverages.
Your Creation card still works but you’re not going to use IHG any more?!!! 😱

This is truly the foremost of first world problems around here!
