Hi,

I am thinking of applying for the Avios Plus card but I was wondering if this could affect my current mortgage application. I have had all the documents through and just waiting for solicitors to do their thing so think it will be ok but don’t want to risk messing things up.

does anyone know if i am being overly cautious?

You are not being overly cautious. Your mortgage is more important than a few thousand Avios. It’s not guaranteed,but also not unheard of, for a lender to do one last check before releasing funds. If I were you I’d be leaving well alone.

Someone on here (can’t remember the username) posted a couple of times recently that this idea of credit applications affecting mortgage applications is a non-issue nowadays, so if you’re happy to take his/her word for it, go for it.
