Ate at Luso on Saturday 24th Jan. Still haven’t received any credit. How long to give it before contacting Amex? I noticed it comes up on the statement as TST-LUSO and using some payment aggregator called TOAST. I just paid normally on their card machine. Thanks.
Payment aggregators often cause problems as Amex cannot track the spend.
It happened to me at a different restaurant last year — I waited 2 full work weeks and contacted them multiple times during UK work hours by phone to get it sorted — took a lot of time, I must say. People you’ll talk to are completely clueless about this issue. At least they were when I had to deal with it last year.Toast is an POS system so shouldn’t be an issue unless they’ve got it set up using a different merchant ID than Amex has configured for that restaurant in the offer (which is possible if they recently switched to Toast from another card machine type)
I’d give it a couple more days but they likely ask you to wait 30 days per T&C
Yes. I fear one of the issues is that although listed as Luso, they used to be Lisboeta. So, Amex may still have the restaurant configured for the previous setup. This could turn out to be a PITA! Didn’t really rate the food that highly either TBH.
