    I haven’t stayed at many Radisson Individuals, but I did stay at the Park Hall Hotel near Preston last month. They gave free breakfast, room upgraded from standard to superior too. Didn’t ask for early check-in or late check-out. I was also greeted as a VIP at check-in.

    Thanks @titaniumostrich
    It’s pretty annoying.
    Not sure I like the new website design either. While it does look more modern, it just feels a little MVP for me.

    Hey folks – anyone know if the tier points/sector count ever resets?

    I’ve been (just) over 12 months since I initally signed up for my account through the Silver Jay status match.
    I’m showing 62 sectors now, but that’s just over 12 months worth. Wondering if it will just be a running total for ever and ever, or if it will ever adjust to something that will help make it easier to track my plan to retain PH level.

    @jonr405 – I don’t think you’ll have a problem with the different contract details on your work booking. As long as the RJ team can marry up your name, PNR and ticket number I think you’ll be fine. If it’s a rejection for some reason, then you should be able to give the extra details anyway.

    @titaniumostrich – yes most likely.

    Still the redemption side only looks like it covers RJ routes and not any other OneWorld airlines

    Just logged onto my RJ account, and it’s had a bit of a redesign.

    One big change I’ve noticed is that it only seems to count your tier miles when showing your position along the scale towards status.

    Still says I’m PH, still shows that I’ve had 58 segments in last 12 months, however the progress bar makes it look like I’m at Bronze.

    I wonder if this is part of a possible move to remove the segment count from being used to gain status?

    Yes, it ended up being 48 flights for me to get to PH because I had my IB one take ages to credit, then my 47th flight got me PH, but I had my 48th flight before it credited.

    Good luck @jonr405
    Although at that price I’d be pushing for Platinum Hawk and get decent status guaranteed for 3 years (2 years at PH then 1 year at GS if you don’t requalify)

    Hey @tootsci – no, first time in Luxembourg – wanted to get it in before they stopped stamping passports. Quite an enjoyable day just wandering around.

    @jonr405
    – I only did 3 IB flights on my route to PH. MAD-VLC-SVQ-MAD over a few days.
    MAD-VLC was Air Nostrum – credited automatically around 11 days later (from limited experience it seems to be Tuesdays that IB flights update on RJ Club)
    VLC-SVQ was Air Nostrum – did not credit automatically – had to chase, think it took around 7 weeks to go on
    SVQ-MAD – was IB main – credited automatically
    All flights were on IB flight numbers.

    I’m on my own mini segment run. Accompanied the other half down to London, and while they’re busy today I’ve booked myself a day trip to Luxembourg.
    Might as well get EES registered early.

    PH is definitely the sweetspot on this program with the 2 years validity.
    I’m fairly on track for retaining it at my current run rate, but I do like the safety net of having a year at GS if I don’t make it.

    Thanks @titaniumostrich. We’ve booked the BCN day trip for the Friday when we’re in MAD. Flight back is after 9pm, so hopefully miss most of the rush hour folk heading home for the weekend.
    Thinking of booking another trip on the Sunday somewhere, will see what deals I can find.

    @titaniumostrich – how is the lounge in BCN? Any good?

    @mikeHi
    Yes, redemption flights don’t tend to count towards gaining/retaining status.
    Remember if you get PH, you keep it for 2 years, then if you don’t maintain that level you drop to GS for a year.

    Hey @MikeHi, Several of us here have managed to get PH status on RJ without flying any RJ flights.
    Key one to check though is that the flight booking codes appear on the RJ mileage calculator. For example I’ve noticed that Finnair’s basic fares don’t appear, so not risked using them for gaining status.
    I’ve personal flown BA (majority of flights), QR,CX,JL and IB – with only IB giving me trouble crediting the flight, but I got there in the end.

    Thanks for the quick reply. I notice once people gain PH, you can gift GS. Do you know if you able to wait until your PH is close to expiry before gifting? And does the recipient still get the full ‘allocation’ of status/time?

    I think you need to nominate someone with at least 11 months left on your PH card, however I can’t find where I read that so I may be wrong.
    I’ve just gifted GS to my OH and they’ve got the full year worth of GS. Be aware though that it’s a one time gift only. It’s not something you get to gift every year.

    Lol – we need to start a support group!

    I’m probably going to let my PH slip to GS and then maintain GS. That’s all supposing the rules aren’t changed over the next 2/3 years which is entirely possible. But it’s been some motivation to do some fun day trips / weekends e.g. this weekend I’m off to Palma – via a quick segment run MAD-BCN-MAD the night before!

    We have a planned trip to MAD for the solar eclipse in August and I booked a day trip to BCN for one of the days as we’re there for 6 nights in total.

    Genuinely I’m liking the idea of lots of mini European trips this year rather than doing one big long distance holiday.

    @tootsci it doesn’t end. I got PH at end of November, and all I’ve done is book more trips to keep it.
    Booked a trip to London with the OH at beginning of Feb, since he didn’t have status I was coming along, then decided on the day I was on my own I booked a trip to LUX for the day.
    Then in May same again I’ve booked a trip to MAD for the day.
    I need to get some help haha.
    I’ve currently got 34 of my 80 flights to retain PH booked up to end of August this year.

    Another update

    Partner’s status just updated this afternoon.
    Absolutely no issue with taking our marriage certificate whatsoever.

    Gold Sparrow Nomination Update

    Email received this morning asking me to check my OH has received an email asking them to join my Family Club Account, then to reply back to say complete and they can continue the Gold Nomination.

    I suspect I could probably have completed this step myself before I reached out to them to save a few days of processing time, but on the other side my OH’s next flight isn’t until 1st Feb so any small delay is better to give more time for re-qualification.

    I looked at a potential visit to Amman as a redemption, but it’s 17,500 miles each way, so will be quite some time before we’ll have enough miles for it haha.

    @Waffles1
    good news! Minor technical qu – was your OH already part of your household account, or has that been done as a result of the gifting? Sounds like the latter from the email you quote?

    Hey @tootsci – no he’s not in the family account yet, but hoping early next week it will all be processed now. In the main it makes no difference for us. The miles are fairly worthless, and the most common flight we take will take years of flying before we’d get enough miles from it to get a free flight.
    We might just save them all up and cash in for a £50 Sainsbury’s voucher at Christmas haha

    @tootsci it’s looking positive.
    I got a reply today saying:

    Kindly be informed that once Mr. WAFFLES2 has been assigned under your account; all his upcoming miles will be credited under your account. Kindly advise if you still want us to proceed accordingly.

    They then went on to answer my question as to whether he’d need 26 or 30 flights to prequalify, and the answer was 26.

    Hopefully have the upgrade in the next few days, although ideally not needed until the end of January to give more time for re-qualification. They don’t fly for work, so all 26 flights will be on our own dime.

    Before I had status I was one of those who would leave it to chance – however I was also playing the lottery that everyone else did, so I’d be right on there at t-24 to get checked in and seats selected.
    When BA would charge £80 each way for a long haul, then add on seat selection for the connecting flight to LHR, I’d just consider that as half way to paying for another holiday flight, so would take my chances.

    Yeah, I sent off the marriage certificate and the council tax bill for 2025 – while the law of Jordan may not exactly recognise my marriage, in my experience most people don’t actually care too much so I’m hopeful that it will all go through.
