    Weird stuff happening here.

On the Gold and Black benefits page, it now says that your monthly £10/£20 bonus is triggered via a £10 spend on the LAST Friday of the month.

However, the main benefits page still says it is the FIRST Friday.

FWIW, I did a £10 purchase today (the last Friday of the month) and the bonus did not immediately trigger. That said, I got the bonus on the first Friday of February so perhaps I don’t get it twice. Or perhaps its still First Friday after all? I will try again next Friday and see.

I noticed that they have removed the “coming soon” section on food redemptions. Maybe they have got it fixed?

To test the Friday thing I made a transaction last night, as I wasn’t told for the first Friday. Will update if 1000 post.

When I use paypal.com in other scenarios, they either let me choose, but for Ocado should it not go to my preferred payment?

Try removing PayPal from Ocado. Then adding it again – it’ll allow you to choose a funding source.

I don’t have the debit card yet. I’ve just been doing a few of the PayPal plus offers from the website.

ohh interesting. I’ve had a sense that they’re actually sorting their tech out now — so maybe things are attacking faster.

For example for the first time ever I got an email today saying a payment had moved to confirmed – an “offer complete” email.

I don’t fully understand PayPal Plus. Payments in January are still pending but those I’ve made in February have already paid out.

George was offering 20% last week but has now disappeared. I’ve never had John Lewis.

You are not alone! I think we are all still working it out!

Those January payments, were they on PayPal checkout (takes a good while to credit, up to 60 days I’ve found) or PayPal debit card (takes a couple of days to credit).

George/JL — I think the offers are a bit like amex – limited in the number of activations and to some extent targeted. Use them while they appear as they will go!

Okay thanks. You’re right! I’ll avoid all the personal stuff.

The point she made to me was the flight isn’t cancelled – the flight number is the same, it’s just 4h20 later. I didn’t have a comeback to that!

It took a day or two for mine to fully work. It appears to be fully set up but I think there’s a manual check still happening in the background.

You don’t need a Lloyds current account – their credit card will do!

Agree with all that Davefl! I’ve found the prices full significantly about 12-14 days out. So always monitor that closely. Have saved hundreds by doing this.

The amex one is nice as it also has an upgrade voucher which is usually honoured. Download that from the home page.

And I’d also try the Amex Avis site too – often times makes more sense to me.

    I agree with JDB.

Only small thing to add, I’ve found that it seems more effective if you absolutely have to escalate a complaint to:
    – send a summary email to the original contact (the hotel) outlining the situation in depth as you understand it with a clear ask
    – then after a few days of no reply (or if they reply saying nothing doing) forward that to the EVP with a short bit of text appealing for help in a concise way.

This way you appear reasonable, calm and not ranty – and I find it often gets a fast response from the senior person who then gets their team to sort the situation out

    . Any ideas??

Could you have iCloud Private Relay running? This is sort of a VPN and runs in the background iPhones and iPads if you have iCloud+. I’ve seen it cause issues like this in the past. It would not be the case on your windows PC though.

To find out go to Settings>Your Name> iCloud > Private Relay and toggle off. Then try again with the PayPal app.

The cashback offers are great, but they do seem to take a while to credit! Most of mine are not going to post for 6-8 weeks

    Same here.

When I login in the BA site it fires 2FA and sends me an SMS with a code. When I try to login in Android app it does not. Has anyone else experienced this?

My theory is that this is to do with a change to how they’ve implemented 2FA.

Have you tried paying the deposit for the price to lock it in for 24 hours? Then calling to pay the full fee? That might get it through

in reply to: 50% off second room for families
    60 posts

No, it should show up when booking. It’s not available for all hotels/all dates.

I’ve used it a few times on the accor website by putting all the people into one room and then scrolling through the results. It should usually show you in results which ones have that available — and you’ll see it’s allocated two rooms.

Do NOT assume you can book one room and they’ll do anything else. I’ve found Accor to be a very logical, rules based company. No grey areas!

    Thanks Paul, that’s helpful.

    Thanks AJA. Very helpful.

They’re Avios tickets for a family of 4. Perhaps I should have cancelled them and paid the £35/person fee. Oh dear!

I’ll explore that link and see what else we can find, then give them a call and see what what options we have.

    Thanks

    Agree on hotels.com and supermarkets.

I’ve also found Airbnb to be speedy.

Buying Amazon gift card is normally v swift also

Booking Airbnb doesn’t need you to logi, you just put in your club number. So if BA don’t fix it maybe book a cheap Airbnb nearby for tomorrow, check in, and explain the situation?

Thanks JDB. Okay I’ll do some research and then call in and see what they say.

BA have done the same to me for an avios booking in September to Istanbul. The flight times offered are not workable due to childcare issues.

Turkish Airlines have a range of flights which would work. If I call and request moving to one of those, are they likely to cause a fuss? Anything I can do to help myself here?

I found it massively depends on the reason for your early departure. If there is a health or other unexpected issue, I found hotels are often very understanding and allow you to not pay any charge and in one case with us, they refunded the unused nights to us. Are you able to say a little bit about why you need to leave early?

If they are security issues try emailing the CEO. I believe email is

You cannot even get 0.5%, the payment fails if you try to pay tax free childcare with your Zilch card.

Oh no! Good while it lasted….

Noticed that TFC has now been removed as a special retailer on zilch. Is that the same for everyone else? Maybe the card can still be used for 0.5%?

Just noticed this too. Doh! Any tips for other ways to get cashback/points on childcare fees? 0.5% is better than nothing but….
