Personally clubrooms is always a decent experience at BHX it’s not luxury but definitely better than the standard one.

In the evening it’s usually fine but the morning always pre book

I read they are opening a new lounge this summer wonder who will operate and what level

So I’ve finally had my 15 nights

Believe they were triggered by spending on the card this morning

And still won’t be money laundering

You’re right about cash recycling term but it specifically allows you to pay into NS&I and your Amex bill

And sticking £3k in a saving account for a few weeks isn’t suspicious either if you earn more than £3k

Cash recycling clearly isn’t money laundering

You have a full trail of the transactions and you’d pay tax on any savings interest via NS&I and points / personal credit card cashback is specifically exempt from tax.

Well that’s really disappointing I liked this hotel and worked for me on a few levels including a good corporate rate

Probably something to do with this

JDB has already told you why tipping is encouraged it’s because it doesn’t attract VAT which means the “fair price” you think you want would then be 12% higher rather than 10% higher

Id rather not pay an extra 2% thank you very much.

All menus tell you there’s a service charge if you don’t like go elsewhere.

Have you actually made any transactions on the card in the last month or since statement?

Offered 40k MR points for £10k spend in 3 months…

Which is laughable when you consider the 75k for £10k spend for upgrading a gold card

Tomato Energy closed to new customers.

    I noticed this too.

If you do regularly charge out and about consider Ionity £10pm sub brings the price down to 43p per kWh and most if not all of all are super fast 350kw chargers.

If it’s more sporadic then there’s still a few deals about (I probably only charge 5% out and it’s such a low % of my total cost I don’t really bother with price)

Instavolt also do cheaper off peak rate of 54p between 9pm-7am if you use their app, think contactless is coming at some point this year. They have a mixture of 50-350kw chargers but rapidly expanding their hubs and there’s a very good one off the M40 exit at Banbury.

BE.EV it’s worth downloading their app as again they offer discount for using it vs contactless but also then give lower priced off peak charging 9pm-7am

Hopefully more OEMs start install car to charger communication and more CPOs roll out the capability so you won’t need to faff with contactless or apps each time as the car is registered with them but tbh apps are so easy as it is.

I and most people I know used https://www.smarthomecharge.co.uk/ for home install as it was very easy process and very competitive. Personally I can’t fault OHME and they work with all the smart tariffs.

As above good chance both will work as long as the tens are identical and of course you meet them.

I did try search but it’s not great on here

But can never discuss security too much

Make sure you have the latest app downloaded and it should appear under your balance on the main screen.

Similar used mine plus the £100 dining credit on the 1st and got the credits on the 3rd

£200 meal & drinks for £60 not bad at all

@davefl not sure why this changes any of that. Was it any less of a detour when it was 600TP it still made no sense to go out your way for something that took more time, was more expensive and stressful.

A free G&T in a lounge (if it wasn’t crowded) wasn’t worth all that.

    Some will for sure.

Others will just think it’s a good way to boost their status. It’s simple BA want people to spend money with them and be rewarded for spending their money with them.

    This change does exactly that.

Just like the hotels run double nights promos I’m sure BA can do the same with qualifying spend if they aren’t seeing the numbers they want.

I do wonder if the beancounter that calculated the impact on their bottom line factored in the absolute hammering that the BA Holidays division is going to take now people won’t be going for double TPs or TP runs any more.

Probably appears on a different spreadsheet!

The knock on effect for the hotels on their list and the car rental agencies will also be significant but that won’t matter to BA.

BA holidays is now the best route to get the spend though so if anything it sends people that way

Supposedly sold in a pre pack deal to Interesting Hotels which is interesting as it’s very different to the groups other hotels.

In reality the offer is still available for you to use so what do you think the ombudsman is going to do?

Seriously a central London restaurant like Fallow not taking Amex, think they have their priorities backwards.

I’m not going to lie it’s that sort of pettiness that means I end up just going elsewhere

How can they be owed £50m from a £36m loan? Didn’t make a single payment there accruing interest and penalties?

If they did then they didn’t pay the council the a sum against the principal plus interest over the years? I can’t believe it would be lent on interest only basis

I feel like this is one of those stories where someone is making up numbers.

I did wonder if you might’ve fallen just short of £250 because of fees but you’ve clearly spent over.

Agree with all the above it’s just too early.

3C shouldn’t be a problem many hotels use it to process payments and all I have ever had worked eventually.

Are we meant to guess with Hampton by Hilton this was?

What does the extra info when you click the transaction on the app say?

Rob is pretty clear the offer says checkout spend only but generally it works for all charges. It’s still a YMMV if you don’t stick to the terms of an offer.

Looks like BA has now fixed the issue where the website was letting everyone cancel for 50p / £12.50 and is now charging £35
