Anyone else having difficulty login to into Radisson today or am I just lucky? Am in an endless loop of being told password incorrect (after a loooooong wait) directed to reset it, but then new password doesn’t work either…
I can’t log in either and there’s reports on FlyerTalk of others having the same problem.
Thanks – That saves me banging my head against this wall any longer, then
Seems to be back up and running..

Oh ######. I really wonder if this game is worth the aggravation sometimes.
Now have debit card but cannot get online payment to approve in the app or online. Useless.
I was also unsuccessful in adding money to my Paypal+ account via debit card, but it went through when making a payment to HMRC and using my bank account as fallback account. Fingers crossed you get sorted (unless you gave up!)

Different error. When applying I constantly get ‘Something went wrong. We can’t load this feature at the moment’. Tried linking direct to bank account, using a debit card, using curve. Checked their ‘help’ and none relevant. Anyone had this and fixed?.
I have the same error, haven’t found a fix yet..
Sorted. You need to phone PayPal. They will then send you a link to upload ID to verify your account. They stayed on line with me and verified there and then. I then opened debit card via website when they stayed on line. Easy in the end
Good knowledge. I didn’t know you could phone Paypal! On the phone doing it now.. thanks for the tip!

Did you like Bohol?
Another +1 for Bohol. I visited for a few days in Oct. Had originally planned to visit Siargao but put off by the typhoon risk, I opted for Bohol instead.. no regrets at all. It’s not overrun with tourists and extremely good value. Loved exploring Bohol and also doing some snorkelling. Highly recommend a day trip to Pamalican island.
I flew to Bohol from Manila (very easy, and flights cheaper than some of the more mainstream islands), then ferry to Cebu (with business class seat..booked in advance on 12go.asia) and flew out of Cebu to Taipei (Alaska redemption on Starlux.. without question the best short haul business class experience). The international terminal at Cebu is a dream compared to Manila (which is chaos).
Enjoy!

Saudia do some great fares as single tickets from Manila to Manchester with a stop in Jeddah. They are routinely around £8-900 in business class. I snagged one for £625 earlier in the year. I really enjoyed flying Saudia (it’s a dry airline, but I don’t drink..so happy days!).
On the way out I flew London Heathrow to Manila in business class with Etihad with a stop in Abu Dhabi booked using some rogue miles I had with AA.

Name: Park Plaza London Riverbank
City: London
Upgraded? Yes – to a one bed suite (given at check-in unprompted, app showed a lower class upgrade)
Lounge Access: Yes – but I had to request it. It’s a huge space but not loads of catering. I didn’t see anyone else using the lounge while I was there. Lounge hours are 6:30am-5:30pm (so not actually that useful if you’re arriving after 5:30pm). There were some delicious sandwiches at lunch time though.
Breakfast: Yes, in the main restaurant. There was also a (very) light continental selection in the lounge. Went to the main restaurant afterwards and the selection wasn’t the best (and quite depleted).
Welcome gift: None? There were a couple of bottles of water in the room but I think everyone gets those
Late check-out: Yes – requested 1pm, they gave me 2pm.
Comments: Location not amazing (a walk from Waterloo or Vauxhall stations) – although lovely views over Parliament from the 12th floor lounge. Pool and sauna was very nice. With the lounge access it’s a decent package.t0m 130 posts
1x 5k here so far. Looking forward to more if others have received more than one prize!

Mine is a challenge to rent with Avis and in exchange I “might” win 11k points. Thanks but no thanks.

Those points seem expensive in relation to others, I got premium for 19000 points so was a no brainier – is currently 41000 back in upper. How many tickets are guy looking to book? That’s why I’m toying with the idea of trying to get a companion voucher but who knows what the cost will be by time I get the voucher.
41k upper is a steal!

I just claimed for a delayed return from AGP for a family of 4. We were delayed over night and they offer £50 for every 12 hours of delay, with no excess to pay on this. Claim was easy, information sent, £200 confirmed paid to my HSBC account a week later.

An email I sent 6 weeks ago asking confirmation of upgrade policy conveniently omitted to state that there wasn’t any chance of an upgrade. They are happy to upgrade me to a suite for $1000 per night, so there is obviously availability. By the same token, early check in, another Elite:Emyr benefit is only available for an undisclosed fee. Hugely frustrating, but hopefully it will be a good experience and the lounge access and removal of the most expensive fee addition are great benefits.
Gosh yes, don’t get me started on the IC Barclay. It was a stay there that finally encouraged me to throw in the towel on my Ambassador membership.

I agree entirely that the HSBC Premier policy is very decent, and also have had great experience from them both times I have claimed.
Re Amex, one benefit I have actually found v useful over the years is the travel inconvenience cover that is provided with the BAPP / Gold cards (and I think Platinum, although it’s been a while). This pays out up to £150 or £200 for delays over 4 hours. I’ve used this when my flights have been cancelled/rescheduled in advance of travel, to pay for an extra hotel night or travel as neccessary. There’s no excess.
Great knowledge! I’d not read about this before.. but v. good to know. And great to hear it pays out in the event of flights being rescheduled.

Same here. Couldn’t believe the speed with which the claim was paid. I received the notification of the money hitting my account minutes after their response. Am about to make another claim..let’s see if this goes as well 🙂

Just got an email from GWR that says at the top “Bronze 40/120”.
If I log into my account online it says Bronze 40/50 but I’m thinking they have realised far too many people are qualifying so have upped the limit on the quiet…
Or is that just referring to the 120 needed to hit Gold? Still showing the original levels on gwr.com/rewards
Not sure if it’s just me but I’ve noticed the GWR lounge at Paddington starting to get busier. They now just wave me in when they see me 😀

I was also just moved from VIP to Premium – new ‘Tier updates’ date of 09/27.

or do they only let this go on 355 day bookings?
AFAIK if you could have booked your flights as a return at the time you booked the outbound the call centre is unlikely to help you add a return a day for reduced fees (which is completely reasonable IMHO). If you try you might get lucky of course, but if you don’t you are stuck with cancelling and rebooking the whole thing.
Damn, I thought that might be the case. Does booking multi city force it to price as 2 singles (rather than a return).. i.e. if you did in to GIG and out from GRU? I’ll call to find out but someone here must know 🙂

Yep when booking to Brazil I always buy separate tickets. The tax difference is huge, so still a gain even if you have to pay double the cancellation charges.
Question though.. I want to use a 241 voucher on an upcoming booking to Brazil. Difference in taxes is almost £300 cheaper to book 2x singles. I know that BA recognise that people want to book 355 days out to get availability and in this case will let you book 2 single fares under a single 241 voucher by first booking and then contacting them to refund half the Avios on the return leg (I’ve done this twice to get availability to Tokyo). Does anyone know if they will do the same for any 2x single fares (so long as they follow the 241 rules.. in this case I am looking at into and out of GIG/GRU, so no issue there), or do they only let this go on 355 day bookings? Paying an extra £300 in taxes per seat will eat into my Avios savings from the 241!

You probably don’t need to ask the hotel to add the name. Check in alone and you are 100% safe.
You will get away with it, but it’s not the greatest idea. In the event of an emergency the hotel need to know how many people are in each room..
I booked via BAH on a trip to Japan a couple of years ago, booking for 3 people and booked a room for 4 at the ANA Intercontinental Tokyo. My partner made their own way to Japan. I contacted the hotel in advance and checked if it would be OK. They asked me to pay a small supplement because the room also came with lounge access, but otherwise fine. No issues with TPs, and I don’t see any reason (or even mechanism) to let BA know.

I cancelled a flight late last year..still waiting for a refund of the taxes. They email periodically to say they are still working through their backlog. Very odd.
29th May 2025 at 22:39 in reply to: Did anyone get a Radisson email about VIP status drop?t0m 130 posts
Received the same e-mail. What isn’t clear to me is what happens if I book a VIP rate now for after I lose my VIP status? When you book it seems to add the following to the booking:
Stay options:
Rewards – VIP
Rewards – VIP Breakfast for 2Think there is a risk they will take this away if I’m no longer VIP or I will keep it? Was looking at booking a trip in Oct forgetting that I’d drop my status in August..going to miss the mega VIP upgrades

Radisson Collection Copenhagen is very nice – especially if you get upgraded from a basic single room to a huge suite like I did. Great location, great views, great breakfast.
