Roberto 358 posts
We can cancel avios bookings online again????
When did that happen?Roberto 358 posts
In CE you’ll have access to every row (except exits) as there are at least 3 masks above each row and only 2 seats.
Not True, British Airways Airbuses don’t have oxygen suitable for babies in every row in CE.
Roberto 358 posts
One thing to note is that you wont have access to every seat. Exit seats are not allowed of course and not every seat has the correct oxygen supply you would require for the child in the event of depressurisation, BA.com should guide you to a selection that suits your needs. Have a great trip.
2nd April 2023 at 12:12 in reply to: £4k of BA evouchers to use by Sep – can I redeem them for a BA Holiday?Roberto 358 posts
I had £600ish voucher that was refunded last week. Granted the cash has not hit my card yet but its on its way. Was one of the 2p per avios one that I got cancelling way back under BWC.
Third one I have had refunded. Call and ask. YMMV of course.

Take a lot of money, I enjoyed my time in Copenhagen but felt it was somewhat overpriced.

Only about 10% of the rooms are suites so it’s unlikely they give many upgrades at this property.

You could try http://www.seatspy.com and have a poke about. Easter will be busy , hotels will be filling up but there will be something somewhere…

I should mention we was on an award booking. So the $6000 was spends over and above the 960,000 hilton points…

The Conrad is lovely and as a 60 Yr old non diving couple we had a blast there over the last few weeks.
It’s a beautiful place, amazing resort , fabtasic staff, but it’s far for cheap. If you book 5 nights on points paying for 4 it’s 480,000 hilton points , plus $675 pp transfer on the seaplane and maybe another $400 a day. I settled our bill 5 days into a 10 day trip ( splitting payments across 2 cards) and it was $3350 , for effectively 4 days and the transfers – we had no lunches in those 4 days..
It’s not cheap , but it is lovely, like proper paradise. Drinks are overpriced and the food is dear. Our total bill for 10 nights was about $6000 inc $800 for a paid room upgrade.
Have a good trip…

Do you know if its possible to book a reward flight as your qualifying flight, and then request status match. Or does it need to be a full fare flight?
As per my comment above an award booking is sufficient for your needs.
Roberto 358 posts
I was matched last year. I did already have a one way award flight booked. Was simple enough gold for gold , they wanted see recent flight history and a screen print of digital BAEC card.

Ba refunding evouchers if you ask.
Roberto 358 posts
Best bet is to book a cancelable rate now and keep checking.

Yes , wander into Madrid for some Tapa and a beer. It’s not far, 30 mins at the most – you can take the train for about €3 each or cab for about €30.
There are three left luggage offices at the airport:
In Terminal T4, Floor 0 in the Arrivals Hall. Open from 7am – 11pm / 365 days.
In Terminal T1, Floor 0, Exterior Area next to the VIP Car Park. Open from 5am – 10pm / 365 days.
In Terminal T2, Floor 1, Arrivals hall, 30 metres from the T1-T2-T3 Underground Station. Open from 8am – 8pm / 365 days.
Hopefully that’s up to date ,it was when I used it last year.
There was an arrivals lounge but I think it’s still closed. If its open you need to follow the signs to the train station on level -1 of Terminal 4.
The lounge is located within a transit hotel which is opposite the Madrid underground and commuter trains access points. When you get to level -1, do not enter the station but walk in the other direction – it will be in front of you although not well marked – I THINK IS STILL CLOSED POST COVID.

Call and ask if your voucher can be swapped for cash. You may be very happy with the outcome.

Just to update on this its not changed and its an easy fix , its just the last part of the link thats not formatted its says /#commentsContent rather than /#comments – the first takes you to the content and the second to the comments where the link is supposed to go.
Todays example :- https://hfp2026mar.kinsta.cloud/2023/02/03/30000-bonus-points-with-capital-on-tap-business-rewards/#commentsContent should be https://hfp2026mar.kinsta.cloud/2023/02/03/30000-bonus-points-with-capital-on-tap-business-rewards/#comments
The side bar when not on the front pages are correct taking you to the comments but moving from comment page X to comment page Y are always wrong forcing you to scroll down through the article time and time again.

Are you paying the bill for your personal account? This is just one of the many reasons (AML) that Amex are culling account..
3rd February 2023 at 19:41 in reply to: Taxes / charges on BA flight less than half what I expected?Roberto 358 posts
You’re paying a lot more Avios than you expected too, that’s why the cash element is lower. You can move the balance point paying less avios and more cash if you’re that way inclined.
Have a great trip.

My Avios are in.

I have spend 960,000 on 10 days at the Conrad at Rangali Maldives. Easy to burn points in a jiffy. Yes it’s an amazing resort but it’s expensive there and flights are not exactly cheap either.
Other quality resorts offer good value too and are far easier to get too, I like the Conrad in the Algarve for example. 5 nights for about 360,000 in a base level room and its a lovely resort with plenty to do nearby if you hire a car. Other than that , Hilton Malta is a cool resort and worth considering at upwards from 60k a night. Five nights is probably enough for Malta. You could do 5 days in each and have 200k plus change for another trip.
