Price up a Horizon Club room at the Shangri La, certainly value for money and my perennial home when in BKK.

Not sure I see the point in using Curve to front payment for goods that you could just purchase using the card directly but alrighty then, each to their own

Three answers there , one is that some people don’t take credit cards just debit cards. Someone mentioned their hairdresser last week had this rule.

The second reason is for the double dip, paying for a product/service with one points earning card and using curve to pay that card payment with a second card accruing a second batch of points/miles.

The last reason is HMRC and/or whatever MS you’re into. Some rip that, I don’t but have had chats with people on here who have “earnt” hundreds of thousands of points on this alone.

You could just book the new direct flight and hope for a cancellation and/or time change on the indirect routing allowing a full refund. If that don’t happen you would cancel anyways nearer then time (ie just a couple of days before youre due to fly) .

I would think this is an insurance problem. You have 99% chance that Wizz air will bob and weave out of this and never pay a penny as @rob mentioned above. You may however have to jump through Wizz’s hoops initially just to get your insurance company involved as the first thing they will say is “speak to your carrier, its their problem to sort out not ours”.

I wont fly Wizz for this exact reason.

I too can wholeheartedly recommend Atlas. I am not an afternoon tea kinda guy (we had a steak and malbec) but can confim it was well patronised and the afternoon tea looked the real deal. Certainly a mighty pretty place, not cheap as @Supergers49 said but well worth the visit whilst in Singapore.

I echo their comment that you need to book..

Cancelled two SH business flights today over the phone and was charged the full £50 (2×£25 each passenger) that I paid when booking. The avios were instantly recredited to my account.

No option to do this online, no £1 cancellation fee.

This group 1-3 A4 sized sign at the boarding gate gives free licence to a third of the plane (or more) to queue up clogging up the boarding gate.

A BIG electronic sign saying Group 1 only once boarding commences changing to Groups 1 & 2 and then onto 1,2 & 3 will throttle back the stampede somewhat. Other Groups can be fed into the line as it moves onto the plane.

Preboarders needing extra time/help and those with kids (under 5) could be tannoyed as usual.

Can confirm it bills as AVIOS GROUP (ALG) LTD CRAWLEY so will be x1.5 on your BA amex PP card.

Has anyone that has done this got a view if that you use a BAPP Amex then it also qualifies for: 3X Avios in purchases made with British Airways or BA Holidays for every £1 spent?

    Thanks,
    SD

When I bought it noted “Avios IAG something-or-another” as the seller , its still pending on Amex but now showing as “BA PURCHASE AVIOS” so the jury is still out wether its x1.5 or ×3.0 avios per pound… I would guess the former.

Lebara is what I use for my mobile data provider, can have up 150GB for €30 (last 28days).

Used it in a mifi unit when we had some carers staying at my MIL place and it worked really well with multiple users over many months using the “free” WiFi. There is options to top it up remotely if you need more data.

Devaluations are happening all the time but it’s generally the cash element (taxes and fees) on award bookings that creep up. In saying that things like the £1 + avios fares are pushing people towards spending more avios too.

I never even knew that TCB earnings could be transferred to avios. Every day is a learning day and something I’ll have to look into.

Conversions are at 1p per avios plus 5% bonus however not every cA5hback partner allows you to convert into avios. Hotels.com for example….

I am off to the Algarve, plenty to do for a 5 or 6 day break. I drive up from where I live and will be staying in the Conrad on a 5 for 4 Hilton award booking. Perhaps not as much culture as similar destinations like Malaga, Seville, Lisbon or Porto but enough for me.

Once midnight ticks over you can log into your MMB on the app/PC and see if its possible to swap for free on BA’s same day flight change policy.

I have had mixed results myself over than last few years but managed it a couple of weeks back for myself and player 2 on a cash booking – unsure what the reward booking situation is currently.

    Sorry to hear your news.
BA let me ammend one flight and cancel another with no costs or question when I found myself in your position a few years back. One of the flights was within 24 hours and was part of a 241.

Agreed, but as you said earlier – checkin shouldn’t have been allowed with the current seat arrangements as kids and parents are not adjacent. Especially as on some flights attendants don’t allow you to swap seats for lead and balance reasons.

Its not adjacent…Infront/behind or across the aisle is enough to fulfil their obligations to you.

Barbados is a heavily couples destination, the middle pairs are the only seats “next” to each other and will often sell out especially on night flights.

To be fair the adults could sit in 17A and 17K with a kid infront of each. Well within the guidelines
