You could book a flight for just over £500 anywhere before the book with confidence ends in September, then cancel it for an e-voucher and then use this voucher as you see fit (including paying for flights in a different currency)…

Or just book on Ba.com , they are so much easier to deal with than IB of course.

Flown MH quite a few times mostly in and out of KUL to Langkawi, Penang and/or Singapore and been pleasantly impressed with their setup both in J and Y.

We do have a MH one way avios booking from Melbourne to KL in business in November which was booked on BA.com which I am looking forward to. Also have an economy booking three days later KUL back to SIN to connect with our BA 241 F class return back to LHR.

Booked premier suite at the Shangri-la in KUL on a 342 night deal, our go to hotel in KL. So much bang for your buck in a Horizon Club room or suite.

Used the fast track the last two times and been money well spent on each occasion. Booked it on viator via that we’ll known t0p c@sh b@ck site for 10% or so off the top. As rob says its insurance against a busy arrival terminal. My last one was a zoo in January.

The BIMsafe thing is rubbish bit I would do it anyways (as I did) but you probably won’t get asked for it (as I did not)..

    Cheese
    Sliced meats
    Salad
    Warm meatballs (one each)
    Warm spring rolls (one each)
    Bread
    Hummus
    Nuts
    Crackers

    Vodka
    Gin
    Captian Morgan
    Whisky
    Soft drinks
    Coors lite Beer

Afternoon tea is served about 4pm too but I never made that.

Pretty uninspiring to be honest but enough to chow down on – was there this week and plenty of people went back multiple times. The wait staff are excellent especially Ronaldo who trys very hard to get you sloshed in the two hour window.

If you fancy something more substantial the Burger in the Shpere bar was very good for £18 plus 12.5% but the drinks are eye wateringly expensive however get a drink to go as many did.

That’s been the case on mine since the beginning – I don’t think this is new.

Well it was new to me as I have been checking most days so it was new news.. Hopefully others will be inclined to check if they too have this new option.

Whilst I appreciate you have had the option (you have mentioned it often) others are not as blessed as you and it them I am alerting..

Thanks – good point! We don’t drive, but Seville might be somewhere fun and easily accessible. Not sure what Granada or Malaga would be like at that time of year

    July in Seville?
    Wow……
    It’s roasting..
I live 90 mins from Seville and would never go in July. Its mid 40’s (and more)….

I don’t know what passport you hold but I think I would be wandering into London for some sightseeing and a bite to eat. 9 hours in a lounge and I would be crawling up the walls.

So, two different answers to my question – thanks to both for taking the time to reply. However as I spent through the £5000 minimum requirement over a week ago and have not had the 45000 Avios SUB added to my account I am hoping its option two. Fingers crossed and I will report back.

    (1)

Same day as transaction posts for the bonus here.

    (2)

When the statement after you hit the spend generates the bonus will post directly to your BA account. Works differently from a “normal”BA Amex

If there are any others that have received their SUB from this offer please feel free to chime in with their insight.

in reply to: UVF helicopter transfer — worth it?

I won’t be going back to St Lucia just on the back of the road journey to/from the airport. Most of the best resorts are in the North and the airport is an hour plus away in the south. That plus the late flight home put me off going back.

I have to say I had an amazing time but the $100 long taxi ride on not the best roads means I will be sticking with other Islands moving forwards.

As for the helicopter option the Ba flight leaves so late that you would need to be at the airport well in advance as the choppers only fly in daylight hours. Its an extra faff that doubles down on my desire to revisit UVF moving forwards.

There is another airport in the North of the island much nearer many resorts but I am not sure if its equipped for LH aircraft.

in reply to: Get ready for Vegas Baby!

Late check outs in Vegas are as rare as a running flush so I would not take that as likely. If you could squeeze them a little more then maybe 1pm as as good as it gets however just take your bags down stairs and leave them with the bell hops and go play until its time to uber to the airport. The flights go quite late mostly so you cant keep the room the whole day so you may as well discount the whole idea tbh.

Secondly upgrades, if youre expecting some Baller Penthouse with a wet bar you’re way off base. Upgrades might just be a higher floor or a different view , again its Vegas and you wont really be in your room that much!

Vegas is my happy place , I am sure you will have a blast

I too spoke to them on twitter today and they said the same. I can print off a paper one from the web site but it looks like something any 14 year old could photoshop in 20 mins – hardly professional. The one on the app is of a similar vein and I was turned away by Air France offering that in October.
