How have the transactions gone through without you approving them in the app or via entering SMS code? If they did chip and pin they knew your pin?

Given the imminent switch to 30 day rolling period does anyone know if the fronted spend will be tracked or is up to us to maintain a log? Bit unreasonable you could argue but this may be their way to make some money

I booked Melbourne using Qatar for 180k Avios for late Jan 2024 in Feb 2023 via BA’s site. You need to carefully watch as they load to Qatar first then only available on BA a few days later. They also didn’t seem to have all the seats Qatar did. There’s a thread which has this info

Has anyone please found a definitive answer to the question posed by the Amex Ts&Cs for this offer that state “Department store concessions are not included in the benefit” regarding what actually counts as a concession, especially when purchasing online? Is it, for example, items that are shipped directly by the producer of the goods and not by HN? I only received my plat card a few days before the end of June voucher expiry and ordered some bowls from Le Creueset, which I was subsequently informed would be dispatched by Le Creuset and not HN. The transaction was pending for several days so in a bid to not lose the pre-July £50 credit I went in store in Knightsbridge and bought some gin. My June credit did subsequently trigger but I’m still not sure whether it was attributed to the online Le Creuset order or the in-store gin order! Now looking to use the pre-January credit but want to make sure I make an eligible purchase. May just go for a drink at the OXO tower to save the hassle!

Sounds like going to store isn’t too much of a chore? If so I’d go in and get a £50 gift card. Then if you buy anything online, pay with any card and then you email them to apply the gist card to the purchase. Usually sorts itself out within a week

The card offers used to help offer the fee but these are definitely getting worse

I’ve just been emailed with new terms but their email is really poor as has no details and only sends you links to various items buried within which are the fee increases and fronted limit reduction

They are hardly “buried”! Curve has complied with the requirements that would be expected of a credit card provider (even though they aren’t one) – ie highlighted the key elements of change. That is in just four brief paragraphs and a link in red to the new fee/subscription schedule.

It’s quite quite odd on the one hand to complain that “their email is really poor as has no details” when if it had such detail, you would no doubt complain the key facts would be even more “buried”. It is entirely correct to point out the essence of the changes but then direct you to the specific detail in the terms because that is the part that matters.

The recent rather significant Amex changes didn’t even have a link to the new terms in the email notification!

I disagree. In reading the email you don’t expect the 10k fronted limit to be decreased to 3k and that is the key point of metal for most customers I imagine. They in no way highlighted this change as you suggest

Just completed my points stay at Times Square. Had booked 2 double lower floor and as diamond ambassador was upgraded to classic on higher floor.

At check in confirmed no resort fee to pay and as diamond breakfast was free for 2. My 4pm late check out also confirmed.

Breakfast is American buffet. Fairly bog standard.

Times Square is a crazy busy area. Since my last trip NY is a lot dirtier and now they’ve legalised it, stinks of weed everywhere.

Other than wanting the 4pm late check out not sure if I’d return to Intercon Times Sq as first choice

Their website suggests it links to your current account. Why would you then need curve?

I find the Ombudsman is an easy process but they are inconsistent and often favour the firm. This Creation saga has taught us they sit on things and don’t think that is to the detriment of the consumer. Plainly wrong and their complaints process is a waste of space.

If they change their terms and conditions, they can’t surely think they can not pro rata refund for free if people want to cancel.

I used to always take the tube but now given my proximity to Paddington it’s a no brainer to use HEX even if booking late. I like to minimise time to travel to/from airport

I got Melbourne for next Jan about a year in advance at the standard rate. I waited for the same seats to be available to book through BA following some advice on here that was preferable. BA didn’t have the same number of seats but still plenty of availability.

Not 100% relevant but having activated the 2 for 1 voucher on player 2’s card (which she still has) in mid-July, we’ve had a few refunds that have since taken us under £10k by £100 or so. The counter is back on her BA Amex homepage. Was that normal? Voucher is still there. Wouldn’t mind if it was taken away actually so I can push validity out when I spend the £100 🙂

Did you do this in the app or on a web browser? I cancelled 2 single fights last April. I found in the app it happened as you said and via computer it automatically refunded.
