…and here`s another. I am sure that these people sit and ignore the fantastic opportunities that Starlink now provides and feel that their political statement has been effective.

I am not a great fan of social media but threads like this give a fascinating insight into the deep negativity with which some minds are burdened.

I am one of those about to drop from Gold and will be aiming to maintain One World Silver status from now on. I am currently Silver with QR having received 80 points from flights in March 2025 and 81 points from flights in October.

It says in my app that I will lose 80 Q points in March. I am confused by the QR 12/24 month rules and would really appreciate advice as to whether I should credit future tier points to BA or QR please.

Cash bookings for 2026 so far with, I hope, accurate tier point earnings are:

    APRIL FCO-DOH-HKT return (120 QR, 2,895 BA)
    MAY CDG-DOH-DPS return (90 QR, 3,983 BA)
    JULY FCO-DOH-BKK-HKT-DOH-FCO (100 QR, 2,892 BA)

So sorry, QR total is 310 for 2026.

I am currently in the Platinum Lounge @ Doha which is virtually silent save for 3 children in track suits screaming their heads off playing games on their tablets. There is not an adult in sight.

Clearly not – just because something is possible, it does not make it correct. I know that they can change the number as I have done it many times; I was enquiring as to whether the first lady`s manager was correct when saying that it is not allowed.

This conversation is incredibly helpful and has raised many matters that I simply would not have considered. HfP at its wonderful best. Thank you all so much.

@pbcold, well it’s good to know that you do care, even though it’s only in the slightest, lol.

    Ha ha – oops.

I feel so blessed to have a brain that does care in the slightest about matters such as this.

This is wonderful, thanks so much. I am going to Bali just after Christmas as it happens so this is most timely.

Thank you Northern Lass, you have my deepest sympathies and I hope that the Portugal trip goes well and that is exactly the sort of hotel I am hoping to find so shall look forward to your feedback.

Some great ideas here, thank you…I shall explore. SS I am utterly amazed and extremely jealous of your experience. I shall do some self-reflection……at 61 I am most certainly not looking for a party vibe and your “dull” suggestion is a very good one, thank you.

According to the awesome GM @ this hotel the locals regard “Parsifal” to be the best restaurant close to the hotel and the best one by the port is “Hogar del Pescador” (Home of the Fish).

Interesting. I’m in the area in September visiting friends. Just had a quick look at this hotel. Think I might book a couple of nights. I assume you took the train from Valencia and it was fairly straightforward. Any recommendations for restaurants? Enjoy the rest of your stay.

Yes, train from Valencia – it was really easy; use the machines rather than the ticket office which was very slow. Recent surgery means I am a grazer rather than a restaurant visitor. I can confirm that there is a large Spa supermarket withing a 5 minute walk of the hotel, however.

Why would 4 adults want to go away during half term, are you teachers?!

Maybe because they have kids who are over 12 but still in education. Grow up.

This is much more like it – attacking anonymous strangers is just how balanced people should be spending their evenings.

Please can we stop threads like this immediately? Negativity and derision are de rigueur here. Highlighting the excellent value that can be had simply will not do.
