I’ve stayed at Moxy Times Square on a solo trip before – tiny rooms but on your own with a normal amount of luggage it’s absolutely fine for a few days. Very central location too.

Had this on my Plat, which is very handy given that bookings are fully flexible by default. On an upcoming booking the price had decreased £15 since I originally booked, plus this saved me a further £15, so all in all a successful 5 minutes of admin to cancel and rebook.

If the particular tariff offers a DD discount, then you’d keep the DD open at the minimum rate (ie I pay Octopus £1 per month DD) then just keep the account sufficiently in credit by CC that they never need to increase the DD.

I used my overseas dining credit in Montreal this year and that posted in days. So random.

The restaurant I used was a relatively new addition to the list, so I can only assume they’ve not got the tracking in place behind the scenes. Very frustrating.

I know this doesn’t help you, but I’ve booked some AM redemptions through KLM with Flying Blue points recently and was impressed with the efficiency and ease. Very reasonable way to move between MEX, CUN and OAX.

Am waiting for a dining credit from Canada, which has now been 60 days. AMEX saying I need to wait 150 days. Never gonna see that one am I!
