Thanks so much for all your help. I’m going to have to sit down and manually check when I call back as flight home is Friday 26th Feb so not exactly sure but I think I call midnight on 8th of March. Another thought I had, after reading some of the more recent posts was: if I did book with the Avios I had but paying more cash online, and they didn’t refund my Avios, could I cancel for free the following day. Not sure if they could cancel and then rebook paying by full Avios and less cash. Would I be risking both my outbound and inbound flights then? Flights last night were 99000 with companion voucher so I only have about 150000 point left. I checked last night about buying another 50000 but it was £899. Fingers crossed someone answers and I don’t need do do any of this.
I had tried to book directly from Glasgow but a red error box came up saying something about being logged into 2 browsers when I wasn’t so then i just did directly from London. The lady said there was a problem so that’s probably why I didn’t have to pay the fee.

Thanks for your help backofdanet. I called tonight to book outbound at 23:48, 2 mins earlier than the BA lady advised but unfortunately at midnight, no one had answered so I quickly clicked on the seats on my iPad and got them. I then called to get the Glasgow to Heathrow connection added. The lady was was very helpful, adding the free connection. She then told me that I had to call back on Sunday 8th March to get return flight booked. I asked about the US clock changing and them closing at midnight. She told me if I can’t get through, to try to book online and then call next day for refund of Avios. When I told her I didn’t have enough points left as I’d used maximum points and minimum cash, she said I could select one of the other options for lower points. I’ve read on here though that both outward and inward flights had to be on same points and cash schedule. Has this changed? Has anyone had success with doing what she advised? Any help appreciated. Hi
So I’ve read through these threads for 4 years now while I’ve saved up our Avios points. I used the My Tello app and did a trial run last night, got through to the operator who told he to call back tonight at 23:50 UK time. I’d called the number listed here +1800-452-1201 about 24:40 but I knew I wasn’t booking, I was just checking how long the wait time was as the UK call centre can have a long wait. I’ve got everyone crossed I can get my outbound booked. I’m just a bit worried tho as I read on here that if you don’t get through by 23:55, you get cut off. Does anyone have an update on this. Should I call at 23:45? Thanks for any advice in advance.
