Only applied for this Friday 20th morning UK time, not heard anything. Also had to submit 3 screenshots, as I don’t know how you all did it but I could not get name, status and expiry date all on one page from either BA app or website? Wasn’t possible without scrolling unless I’m missing something? So I wonder if that because I did multiple screenshots it will be ok?

I’m still waiting for mine but I’ve seen loads of people say they’ve had theirs even when they signed up last minute…. Hmmmm

    Suggests it didn’t track correctly

Very disappointing promo this year, had planned around it for a trip beginning next week too 🙄

Is it too much of a coincidence with the new debit cards giving away 15 nights credit?

Might have been a consideration but remember the promo is global and their main concern will most likely have been the US market and overall picture rather than here in deciding what promo to run. I agree it’s disappointing as I was counting on it to leapfrog to platinum status. But they have run the double night credits for the past five years which was born out of the Covid years when travel was down. I guess they’ve decided they no longer need to do it with probably enough status holders

Sadly not as useful as prior years with the Double ENC. That plus the Amex Marriott + Currensea debit would have made getting Plat status to easy haha.

It’s really good for mattress runs. Assume the double elite credits plus 1k points per night offer comes back, and that you have a £50 Moxy near you:

    4 nights = £200
    Less £75 cashback = £125
    Less 4k bonus points = £105
    Less 500 Nectar = £103
    Less TCB etc = £95

Would the £50/night Moxy (this very likely be a prepay rate) would trigger the Amex cash back given prepay?

Ok came here to post the same thing. Took out credit card and debit card end of December which managed to credit in 2025 but only 15 this year, just glad I’m not the only one and wasn’t because I got them in just before year end.

Another scenario: if you’re travelling as a pair and one person is on an Avios redemption flight while the other is on a BA Holidays booking, you can’t combine the two into a single BA Holidays package. In that case it seems entirely legitimate for the Avios traveller to share the same hotel room, even though they can’t be added to the BA Holidays booking. BA shouldn’t penalise the lead traveller for something that simply isn’t possible to do.

I confirm I have done this, but it was just me staying and I upgraded my single room to one of the suite options. Once it is a suite option don’t see why it wouldn’t be an issue to have two staying, the hotel can amend this on check in if it matters. But might be best to have a flexible back up booking in case.

From a couple of other posts I’ve seen recently it feels like they’ve perhaps been given freer reign to do this, @JDB?

Maybe because there’ll soon be fewer elites? 🙂

Whilst the number may be ever so slightly smaller, it seems it’s more the type of people qualifying for BA status will change, more business focused rather than leisure travellers. I suspect jury is still out but we’ll see

it should work as long as Amex is offering a BT

Nope, Amex has nothing to do with it and afaik they don’t offer balance transfers onto an Amex. I have done BT’s from Amex to Santander & Natwest without issue in the past, though it may require a phone call to do it.

Paris Le Grand room with club access using an Ambassador 241 voucher is the way to go in my opinion

Correct. Preferably a junior suite as base rooms are small. Beware of the cheaper standard suites as they are in the roof and have low ceilings.

I can attest to ending up in the roof suite, would rather have a king premium room with a proper view. I booked a cosy as Diamond Amb at the time but the hotel allocated me a room that was already taken! They apologised then allocated me a roof suite, I should have declined that in hindsight as it barely had a view and had stairs upon walking into it which became a bit of a pain. Would have preferred just a normal King room. Despite this error beautiful hotel and would go back there when next in Paris

You can get a referral from Hfp Team/Rob. Just not from other users on here is the main rule I think

Somewhat related but I have not had a full English on club world flights back to London from the US. That could be because their schedule arrival is around midday? It’s been like a breakfast roll or something similar not a full English sadly.

but I was wondering if I might get drinks anyway as I COULD have chosen an MCE*? Any experience?!

You can get drinks if you pay, but priority is given to MCE

    339 posts

Yes you’ll need to choose MCE for the extra drink perks as that’s how AA cabin crew recognise those that have “paid” extra or the premium bit in economy

Pretty much sure this is impossible. Even if booked directly with CX, BA wouldn’t be able to touch the ticket so they couldn’t use your avios to upgrade. BA can only issue full CX tickets on Avios. You may or may not be able to use CX Asia miles to upgrade the ticket. Even then that can be difficult if your work used a travel agent to issue the ticket.

Hi, I guess it might be a bit late for you @Sunguy but there are a few Facebook messenger groups that can help with lounge guesting

I seem to understand you can actually move between terminals at LAX? So I could spend some time in the F Qantas lounge then walk to T4? I see the AA flagship lounge is also open to BA silver members too so what’s the difference with Admirals?

Yes — there’s an airside tunnel at T4 LAX through to the Tom Bradley terminal, so you can lounge hop. I did it myself last year when I was BA Gold, travelling on AA, and had access to the QF First Lounge as well as the oneworld Business and AA Flagship lounges. Personally, I preferred the AA Flagship over the oneworld Business. Admirals Clubs are mainly aimed at US residents travelling on AA who have paid memberships, often via subscriptions or credit cards.

Thanks for the suggestions here, I think a rate guarantee claim is out as the cancellation and payment terms are not quite the same so that would inevitably fail.
I think my options are too then contact the hotel first or book via trip and see if they will convert to a direct booking and then cancel the trip booking.

Also was recently offered 12k MR points with £1k spend in 3 months. Spend only a few £k since the new membership year.

They honour the AMB benefits, and usually on reward stays they do as well but my experience is they won’t go beyond the 1 category upgrade. Two if you’re Diamond AMB

… or whether at some stage BA has overridden or overwritten the AS number to the BA default of both fields being the same…

I think BA is doing this.

Agreed, I really think BA want people to credit to their scheme even if it’s a bit naughty. I had a friend who booked an IB flight MAD-LON on ba.com (annoyingly he was logged in so filled in his BA info) when he went to IB to check in, he changed the frequent flyer no. to his IB account which is what showed on the boarding pass yet the avios/nTPs credited to his BA account despite changing it.

The FAQ at the time said there would not be any transitional arrangements for partner flights (other than AA/IB) – ie you will get the same TP for post 01/04 flights, irrespective of booking date:-

From 1 April 2025, flights marketed by American Airlines (AA) and Iberia (IB) earn tier points based on total eligible spend. You’ll also earn tier points for qualifying add-ons on flights marketed and operated by Iberia.

For flights marketed by oneworld or other air partners, you’ll earn tier points based on a percentage of how many miles you fly, as well as your booking class and the cabin you fly in, regardless of when it was booked.

There are no changes to how you collect Avios on our partner airlines.

Thanks, good to know, so if it credits per new rules you have no claim/dispute, I would personally credit elsewhere

If crediting to IB though, how do they portion out the value for the flights if it’s based on spend as we only see the final package price?

Yes they’ve got much tighter releasing award availability to oneworld partners
