Thanks all, definitely looks like one to steer clear of.
I’m doubly annoyed as I did have a stash of MR points but then accidently agreed to use them for Safekey for an Ocado order when I was doing it stupidly early in the morning. It’s so sneaky – but lesson learnt!

This comes up every so often. It’s against the avios Ts and Cs so the worst that could happen is that BA could close your account and you could forfeit whatever avios you have, plus any flights you have booked! Also it’s never clear how the seller would actually move them into your account, so you risk losing your money.
I’m guessing that credit card protection wouldn’t extend to something like this as well.
How soon do you need them? The Wine Flyer often gives 2000 avios or more with a purchase and they post as soon as the order is confirmed.
Good tip, I could buy £50 worth of booze easily…

Your post has triggered my memory that I’d had one of these too. I didn’t have a clue and have only looked back now on my actual statement where it’s called “BRITISH AIRWAYS GB DIRECT ECOMM British Airways Offer”. I can’t remember what the offer was. However – triangulating between my statement, my emails and what I spent, it looks to me like it’s a Hilton £50 offer which has been credited as BA (I don’t think I ever get BA ofers on my Gold card, they’re usually on my BAPP).
Does that sound like your experience? BA won’t be too happy if they had to foot the bill 🙂I definitely haven’t spent anything at Hilton, but it could be another offer, this is just why I am stumped!

full sympathies, they are only open 9-2 M-F – I just did it and got through to a human, but hardly convenient!

New to the Curve fronted system – can you please confirm, is the 10k limit once every 31 days or can I do one payment eg today, 19 Jan, and then another on 1 Feb?
I’m weighing up my options on how I pay my rather large bill!

I have started a chargeback, thank you. I will also try Resolver though, I hadn’t thought of that. I am just so surprised as its a “big” company which expects people to spend lots of money with them! I would have thought that the customer care experience would be better.
