any clue on how the referral code is generated? the first 5 characters seem to be the first name of the acc holder

I have a previously saved referral link from an account that referrals are off. Has anyone tested this lately and know if the referrer will still get points?

    Thanks

If you open it and it tells you immediately their first name then yes

I see more a general issue than country specific.

Perennial question, if you have BAPP and Platinum does it matter insurance wise, which one you use to pay for the flights?

BAPP gets me more Avios for the BAH booking but Platinum has better insurance cover.

Can I pay with BAPP but benefit from Plat’s better insurance cover?

Yes, you can pay with any amex card and still be covered

According to Curve. “The new funds (£50m) will be used to improve the overall customer experience (Curve just recently rolled out its new app, which includes a marketplace of financial applets), expand its Flex offerings, and bring exciting new partnerships to the market.”

It’s unbelievable that they cant get customer service reps to deal with these requests.

The chargeback route might be far fetched

Try trawling through emails with keywords like like “You have been approved” or look at your first transaction and get some clues as to when you first signed up to Amex.

A credit check might even pop up when you got approved

I have 2 out of 3 posted (out of a potential of 4 transactions, only 3 credits as per T&Cs of offer). I will wait a bit longer and see. Every year at least one does not post. Every year I put a complaint in. Usually it is sorted, but last year I had to go to the ombudsman following a particularly idiotic response. Won my £5 plus £50 compensation. And Amex will have paid the £750 case fee.
I have all the details for another ctrl+c ctrl+v this year if they try the same again.

Can you share please i will also need to

Just tried to create an insurance certificate but it only allows me to specify a single country. What are readers doing where they visit multiple countries on one trip? AXA CS told me to separate each country by a coma but that didn’t work as certificate only shows first specified country.

If you know the dates of each country you can just print more with new dates

P2 could get an amex gold, you could be listed as a supplementary card and use that as the t&cs stipulate you just need to use any amex card to be covered and get the extra MR points as a bonus in this situation.

In return you would get 2x MR for every £1 (thats almost 18,000 MR points by doing so instead of 9,000). Something to consider

RE: “Your Account is temporarily unable to access the Referral Programme, please read our full T&Cs here for more information.”

Someone has given me their link and it comes up with an error now (didnt used to)

“Unfortunately this referral link is no longer valid or has expired. Please check again or ask your friend to resend their unique referral link to you.”

@Harrier, you’ve got me worried about my £1.19 of Curve cash now! Might need to buy a Kindle book 😜

The only ones who should be worried are Curve investors

What information do you profess to know that should worry investors? It can’t be the Fronted changes or the removal of Metal insurance, so what is it?

A loss since inception (2016) doesnt fill anyone with confidence, despite millions in funding

In my case I actually just wanted to shift my monthly subscription date and could see no way to do so than downgrading and re-upgrading later. I am at a loss to understand why Curve seems to be making this so difficult, and I suspect I will probably need to try the complaint route after waiting for a few more weeks. Am I also part of this blame culture that you are alluding to?

Would it matter whether or not to change the date of subscription date. I presume you are using a cc and that doesn’t require to be paid for another 2-4 weeks depending on your cc cycle. Perhaps you could change that instead.. just giving some ideas

Anyhow… there will be prob about 50% of their 4,500,000 members will be unsubscribing on 1 Jan 2024 so knowing full well of Curves incompetence they are probably just trying to make it harder for people later on when the exodus comes.

According to fintechfutures “Curve also claims it is “on trajectory” to reach profitability by early 2024”

The scammers don’t need a man-on-the-inside. It’s a lot more simple than that. They just need your discarded receipt.

Not true. The first set of numbers are asterisked out

Only the last 11 numbers are unique. The first numbers are <chrome_annotation data-index=”0″ data-data=”984b5635-a881-4fac-9a0d-03fe94e5c544″ data-annotation=”98263000″ data-type=”PHONE_NUMBER” role=”link” style=”border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-style: solid; border-bottom-color: rgb(51, 51, 51);”>98263000</chrome_annotation> for everyone. The last 7 are shown on the receipt, leaving only 4 to generate. There are even nectar number generators online. The security is pathetic.
The hassle factor in getting the nectar balance restored is painful.

I figured but thats 10,000 possible combinations
Surely theres a max limit of tries

One way is to cancel the underlining card (replace it) so they cant charge you

You may be offered a retention offer to stay according to some reports.

Can you imagine when they launch their credit card services to the public how longer your response time will be? Likely more than 3 days

Wondering why the 2FA didnt work
Wasnt there a pop up to say do you approve this transaction?

in reply to: Curve changes from November 10th

There’s an interesting change I’ve also spotted that appears to have happened in the past few days. If you were over your fronted limit previously, the fee would show in the approval notification before authorisation, so you could always reject the transaction if you didn’t want to pay the fee or at least you had forewarning as to what it was.

Since the limit change to £3000, the approval now always excludes the fee. It then only shows in the app once the transaction has been completed. Doesn’t that just seem wrong, as they are now purposefully hiding the fee hoping to catch people out with the roll 30-day limit?

Yeah its pretty cunning as the charge is coming from cruve and not the underlining card. I tried to do a test to see the notification over the limit and it didnt specify either.
Would the workaround be waiting for 31 days and then GBIT to another card?
