I have 5600 limit on the free card ( which i don’t use now ) but only 3300 on the plus card.
Would they increase limit on plus card if I agree to reduce on free card ?

vseats.io. is the site created by matio to check points required for redemptions.
You have to spend 20K to get voucher with free card.

Off topic but I didn’t know that day of the dead is also a thing in the Philippines as well..
Daughter in law is Filipino, and she was panicking a bit about potentially giving birth on one of the DOTD dates. She managed to hang on till it was over !

You’ll be lucky to find anything from MAN to LAS for less than 6 figures (there were zero saver seats in any cabin when I looked recently), plus it’s seasonal so depends when you want to go. Plus I imagine the 1903 lounge isn’t a patch on the Clubhouse!
Yeah when I had a quick browse on vseats that was my immediate impression as well, and the Clubhouse is a big draw for a 1st timer of course.
Thanks again NL20th November 2025 at 17:52 in reply to: Select seats at time of booking ( redemption)captaindave 197 posts
+1 for the A seats. I would probably treat it as a day flight and try to stay awake as long as possible to get onto Vegas time as it will be arriving early evening local time.
That’s a good point. Thanks.

Thanks both, much appreciated !
My other option, is to look at MAN-LAS as I think its the A350 on that route, availability for decent points deals probably lower though.
Have some family in Cheshire who would put us up for a night or 2, hate the 260 mile drive up the M5/M6 though….
Anyway I better crack on with the spends for the voucher….

We are hoping to get to Vegas via vs points sometime in 26 or early 27. Seen some reasonable points figures on vseats ( upper out and either premium or economy back )
Just got the reward+ card for the 36k bonus, be switching most spend over to that to earn voucher asap.captaindave 197 posts
Just to update: accepted for card on 9 oct, card received on 23 oct ( just within the 7-10 working days they quote )
Easy to add new card to the app, but looks like my “start” date for spend is 9 oct, 2 weeks of spend time lost.22nd October 2025 at 07:01 in reply to: Converting Tesco points to Virgin Atlantic? Broken?captaindave 197 posts
Tesco/virgin related…. last couple months or so i have started getting coupons for extra clubcard points on some products. ( usually get 5 coupons of which 2 are extra points )
Seem to be valid for 2 weeks or so, then get another set of 5.
Has only been an extra 70 or 80 points every 2 weeks, but every little helps…

@Mattb @mickeym thank you for the feedback, appreciated.
Yeah if the UC saver was eg 60K , I would use points for myself, and then the voucher ( 75K ) for my OH.
I don’t have the points as of now, waiting for new reward plus card to arrive, so that will boost existing pot.
Was booked for Vegas for big birthday in 2020, but of course the panodrama put paid to that.captaindave 197 posts
@smitrax I passed the eligibility check, then straight away did the actual application, and was accepted, all within a few minutes.

Great thread !
Only trip booked for rest if this year is a mystery weekend break booked by my OH for my birthday, I suspect it will be Cornwall based as she let slip that it was south of us and we are in very south Devon, suspect she meant west 🙂
Apart from that, Bangkok next April to see my son and his family, exact dates and flights etc still to be arranged. Won’t just stay in Bangkok obviously. Was hoping to add one a few nights in Maldives at the end via Hilton redemption but the devaluation has probably put the kibosh on that.

Not for me either, got a poor substitute ( 4% trainline) from Halifax Clarity.

Cheers for replies both, dunno why i couldnt see that when i logged on ?
My rough idea is UK – BKK, stay with my son & family for a few days, all go elsewhere in Thailand ( where, to be agreed on ) couple days back in BKK – then myself & OH fly from either Bangkok airport to Male, 5 night Hilton redemption, then MLE – LHR, stay a night or 2, then train it back to Devon.
Thanks for the great info everyone.
My OH really likes the look of Jordaan, so I think that’s the area we will be targeting.
A GVB day pass is now € 9.50
There are various options here
They do now have paygo
Rijksmuseum is now € 25.
Train prices have gone up as well and if you want a paper ticket it’s an extra €1.50.
Thanks for the link, very useful !
So I can buy the GVB tickets in advance and they activate when first used ? Can they be used for journey from airport to Centraal station ?
Thanks for the feedback.
We are thinking Rijksmudeum, Beer museum, canal trip. Anne Frank ( already booked ) plus whatever we find when there, definitely want to try some Indonesian food.

Thanks @John
I usually go for breakfast at Grand Central Kitchen near New St Station, the extra cost gor brekkie at the HGI looked reasonable ( albeit that’s booking for just one person ) so I might just risk it….

Heading up to Brum to visit family as yet another grandkid has entered the world 🙂 usually stay at the Garden Inn near Broad St.

Hi and welcome!
I don’t have the HH+ Debit card myself, but I’m 100% certain that you can only link it to your current account, which is obviously linked to debit card, so your Clarity plan is not possible.
