So, how was breakfast Man of Kent….?!

Graun reporting that the US is to ‘temporarily’ suspend both the Global Entry and TSA pre-check programs due to the continued/partial govt. Shutdown.
The cynic in me queries whether this would be a precursor to ending the schemes completely in their current form (although the report suggests a similar pause happened last year which I wasn’t aware of) but one to be aware for those still travelling to the States.

Cheers Tracey – I did look at Tesco CC first but the Network Railcard seems to be the only one that isn’t included!

Little cheeky perhaps but does anyone know of any live/valid Railcard discount codes perchance?! TIA

All suites at HY Blackfriars come with club access / privileges. Note that there isn’t a separate lounge at this hotel, canapes etc. are served in the main bar opposite reception, but you get the choice of breakfast (inclusive) in either of the 2 spaces they serve this in. The one in the CCC is a little more formal, and less choice from the buffet, at least when I was last there in late Nov.

For clarity, the £85 each was/is for 2-nights.

Thanks – clearly didn’t look hard enough earlier. More coffee needed.

Breakfast in the lounge @yorkshireRich or in the main canteen/area? It doesn’t take much for me to head over to say Roast in Borough Market but one aim of the stay is to keep things relatively tight and constrained, location wise. Unless the breakfast really was ‘that’ bad……

Thanks Strickers – have an event at the Design District so we’re burning through some points rather than stay more centrally. Not much else planned for the 2-nights tbh so suspect we’ll be able to recoup a fair slug of that £170. We don’t have brekky included and will avail of the current £75 Amex offer as well

Thanks all, still having same issues this morning. It’s a cash booking.
Will try some of Froggee’s suggestions!

I appreciate that Hawksmoor isn’t to everyone’s liking, but I’m a big fan on the whole, and typically have an enjoyable experience/eats regardless of venue.
Had occasion to get a table at their new St Pancras venue yesterday, excellent space and interior (can’t recall what was there before – used by the hotel mayhaps?) albeit smaller footprint than quite a few of their other restaurants, which may not be a bad thing.
Cheeky tipple in their Martini Bar afterwards was a nice end. Occasion helped by food having been half price under their soft launch but heartily recommended.

For the avoidance of doubt, the 3 GOH I have gifted via HFP have been done absent any consideration; I get a night towards my tier status which is sufficient for me as it would likely go unused otherwise.
Still baffles me that Hyatt seem to allow people to sell via ebay etc but ho hum.
I have one more GOH expiring Feb26 that I now will be unlikely to use so shout if this would be of use to anyone.

@nlisowski05 – I have a spare GOH which I shall likely be unable to use now. Feel free to message me at roehydesfinest at gmail.com

Thanks all for the suggestions, think we’ve landed on Oman subject to flight availability. Perhaps not going to spend as much time travelling round the country as I’d like but it is somewhere new, with a couple of decent Hyatt options for part of the trip!

On the IHG website now, and whilst it states that the SS London will be open / available to book from Dec 1st, it then also states that it doesn’t accept the Ambassador complimentary weekend voucher.

Thanks for this Peckish. I’m similarly Globalist and will be looking to avail of a SUA (perhaps not the best time of year for a balcony but have a few to use up).
Stayed at GSY earlier in the year, nice, but strangely couldn’t get on board with the latrine set-up! No lounge but a cracking cocktail bar which may swing it idc.

Not just airport lounges, in most hotels you will struggle to get a pint of something that isn’t gnats p1$$.
Back to topic, I have 20 ‘shares’ in Brewdog bought during one of the early Equity for Punks funding rounds. I think they cost me £90, I’ve had far more than that in discount over the years although I agree the quality of the beer has gone downhill. I had hoped the company would list at some point and that the ‘shares’ would be worth something, I’m not holding my breath.[/quote]
@Strickers – probably worthwhile catching up on the furore surrounding how they re-classified the shares during the last funding round. I similarly purchased some shares way back when but the chances of these being worth anything, or of Brewdog listing anytime soon are both unlikely. Also, whilst he retains a shareholding, I don’t believe JW is involved in the day to day running any longer. Not sure the reduced quality of their range is necessarily related…..

£147 per night I paid, the suite I was upgraded too fluctuated between £230-£268 in the weekend leading up to my stay.
£266 middle of next month, and interestingly is currently pricing up more expensive than the higher category Regency across the road.
I don’t have kids, and whilst I saw a few hear this past week, I’m not sure this property is set up suitably got rugrats. No kids club (that I could see advertised or referenced) and the rooftop pool isn’t somewhere kids could look to enjoy themselves given the size; arguably the indoor, basement pool is but how much fun would that be?
I’ve had a quick butchers of the so called top 10 Malta hotels and I think there’s a couple there more suited to families, and the Marriott (Rhys reviewed earlier in the year) and Westin have kids clubs.

To your question BWS, the GM here states they don’t allow access to non-guests. Probably easier done at the IC with otw two pools, both of which are larger than the one at Centric.

Slightly tangential to the OP’s original query, but would Silver still be able to check baggage in if purchasing the cheapest ticket (i.e. baggage not included?).

@Rob – little surprised to see you flagging the eBay link. I’m sure I recall mention (perhaps from you?) that Hyatt were cranking down on this type of thing as the gifting of awards etc was only supposed to be to ‘known’ individuals/associates.
Wouldn’t the sale via this medium put ones membership, and thus existing points/awards at risk?

@mzb – for your benefit and info for anyone else, any live GoH likely have a Feb26 expiry. I hesitate to write for all but I suspect chances of one being gifted this early in ’25 year are slim.
Always worth a shot though!
