I can’t see them going through all the accounts to weed out who got it from buying Ambassador as opposed to who they gave it to for having previously held the Creation card (or, indeed, through number of stays!)
Is that right, though, are points purchased when making a booking counted as qualifying for status?
When booking a stay you will often see the option to pay for extra points per night, something like €5 extra per night for 1000 points per night, other combinations are available. These bonus points count for status.

Managed to get EDI-LHR-SOF-LHR-EDI with 6 days car hire for £406
Positioning flight to and from EDI for £126 in Club
Then a nested SOF-LHR-SOF in between for £210 in Club
I’ll pick up the car in Sofia and stay one night then fly back to Sofia and stay for 1 night and then drop the car off.
All in £742 for 720 tier points. (Plus £68 x2 at Hilton Sofia)
Where did you leave the car while you were back in the UK?

Since SIN changed to the A380 there has been loads of availability if using the Amex vouchers. You may not need to start from MAN.

Panic over, referral option has appeared again and I’ve saved the link this time.

Still no official confirmation of the changes but an ugly new app has been launched

I just noticed I have the same message currently. I don’t think I have done any referrals for at least 18 months. Hopefully it will come back again like some others have reported.
Tried searching my emails but unfortunately the only link I could find was from 2021 and that was a previous card as I closed my BAPP and reapplied to change the anniversary date for voucher purposes.16th August 2023 at 18:01 in reply to: My energy company won’t refund my £5,000 credit balanceBritbronco 18 posts
When I last switched suppliers I was in credit by about £300 or so. It was refunded back to the cards I used to fund the account.

BJ, are the Qatar rates you are quoting ‘saver’ rates?
I’m booking for 4 people, so I’d imagine it would be nigh on impossible to get 4 award seats in business on Qatar, so it’s not really a realistic alternative to using 2 x new 2-4-1 vouchers anyway? We aren’t going to BKK either. Plan is to book LHR – SIN then decide final destination later. Maybe Vietnam, but more research to do still.

Kicking myself for not boosting when the 10% bonus was on. Now it’s more marginal. Not sure whether to transfer all my MR points, or keep them in reserve for flexibility in case of other needs, and pay for the boost instead.

I finally got a reply from Creation today to say they have upheld my complaint and will transfer my remaining points to IHG ( I just had the free card).
They noted that they failed to inform me that points wouldn’t be earned during the notice period. Of course they had no right to do this anyway, but I’ve got what I’m due im the end, only took 18 months!Britbronco 18 posts
As mentioned above, the stress free way of upgrading as an existing customer is simply to apply for a new premier account. You can do this online, and within a day or 2 of the new account opening your existing accounts will be upgraded to premier automatically.
You can then use the new account you opened for a switching offer at another bank.Britbronco 18 posts
Quite frustrated here, there are still 10k points on my card that haven’t been transferred to my IHG account. I sent another chaser to creation 8 weeks ago, but still no reply since the auto-response. Looks like I will have to try calling.
I had actually given up on ever getting these points, but having seen reports of all these points finally being released I’m frustrated that my points are still stuck!Britbronco 18 posts
I have also just downgraded (2nd anniversary coming up) and it has been fairly smooth.
Called up and asked to downgrade, so they sent me the form.
The form was very basic, I had to fill out my address and card number then sign the form, quite odd!
Sent it back in the prepaid envelope and about 7 days later I have received the new physical card.
Strangely the new card isn’t working yet but the old card still is, so I’ve carried on using that for the time being, but I can see online that my account has been changed to premier.Britbronco 18 posts
Coming to the end of 2 years with this card and just checking on the process and how to ensure I get the second and final lot of 40,000 points for spending £10k without having to wait and pay for a third year. I’ve seen some posts on here about completing a physical form to downgrade. Is that the way to do it? Thanks
The second 40,000 points is awarded on the first anniversary of the card if you spend over £12k in the first 12 months of holding the card.

Don’t worry you won’t be charged and you may even earn points on the cash value.

Thanks Ewan. Most of the jdb posts I’ve seen are arguing against the award of the voucher on a technicality (that the account must be open), even though most people would view closure by creation as an unfair action to avoid award of the voucher.
However I’ve not seen him mention the withholding of points, and I can’t really see any justification for doing so, technicality or not! Creation are simply ripping us off and breaching the card terms by not giving 60 days notice for loss of benefits. And they can’t even get their communication sorted, with the statements still showing points as earned.Britbronco 18 posts
JDB, what’s your view on Creation withholding points earned during the 60 day notice period? (While also issuing statements during this period stating that points have been earned, but not transferred).
