Went to Dishoom Canary Wharf last week and they didn’t take Amex then. Perhaps it has changed since.

Normally the travel credit hits before the travel booking cost. Presumably you used a “pay now” option when booking, as I think that’s the only way the credit is triggered.

Resurrecting this thread. Looks like there’s a message on PP saying that this lounge is being permanently closed at the end of March 2026. Can anyone who has been to Sofia recently confirm if there are now other lounges available to passengers? The OW site just points to this one, so I wonder what BA plan to do for CE passengers.

Does the supplementary cardholder get their own Times subscription?

I have exactly this, via Business Platinum.

In my case, it was chip and pin on the card machine.

Can anyone see any risks with the Amex offering triggering if asking the hotel to split the room charge across two different cards at check in?

    Anyone tried this before?

    Thanks

Did this a few weeks ago. No problem. Both triggered as expected and credits received.

New version 4.94.1 now in Google Play store – it works!

Hmm. Still only 4.94 in my Google Play Store. Will see if it refreshes later tonight.

Oh nice! I’ve had the offers a few times but it never works when I click through. I keep seeing an offer Male-London which I’d bite their hand off for but fails and call centre can’t do anything either

This happened to me for London to Kuala Lumpur.
First seats available for a £400 upgrade through MMB.
Unable to complete the action over a period of 2 or 3 days.
Call centre unable to assist (including You First).

Had this as well, and turns out it was because we had used our Barclays upgrade voucher, so while the offer appeared on the app, our booking was ineligible.

Yep, stopped working for me this morning. Poor form from BA, but not unexpected…

Can sometimes be blocked by your VPN. Try turning that off, if you have one enabled.

Had this a while ago (maybe a year or so?) and tried it out. Worked easily, although I can’t actually remember now if the £5 credit came back. It may have done, but I just don’t recall specifically.

Hope you had a great trip there. Did you make it to the nearby town on the evenings?

This is helpful! Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the recommendations! We won’t have a car sadly (don’t drive). Are taxis to/from the resort
to places like San Juan likely to be a pain? Taberna Maritima Agua y Sal does look good! Likely worth a trip there to eat lots of seafood 🙂

Looks like there’s a regular bus from the airport to Costa Adeje (part way to the resort). If anyone has recommendations there would also be handy.

We took a taxi from the resort (a few are usually available near the hotel reception) to San Juan, and it was around EUR 7-8 or so, each way. Well worth it to have the options of San Juan available for dinner. To get a taxi back to the resort, we found it better to walk up to the main San Juan roundabout where loads are usually waiting. Also gives you a chance for a post-dinner stroll while seeing a few bits of the town.

Also try Tasca Dos Rubias in San Juan. We enjoyed a lovely evening here with tapas and wine, overlooking the sea and watching the locals going about their evening routines. Very low key venue, run by friendly hosts. Would definitely go back here if we’re in the area again.

Taberna Maritima Agua y Sal in San Juan is about 5 minutes from the Abama. It is very popular. Basically a large fish counter where you pick what fish you want and how its cooked. Then they bring it over. Crazily good value.

We ate here one night, and it was good. Friendly staff, and very welcoming of visitors. You may have to wait a bit for a table if you arrive during the dinner rush, so try to be a little earlier than the locals, if you can.

Anyone been here recently? We’re staying in one of the retreat rooms, b&b. We’ve booked some nice meals in the resort, but trying to figure out if the snacks laid on will be enough for the odd lunch or dinner. And if anyone knows what the drinks provided in the retreat section are, that would also be good.

Other suggestions are very welcome! We’ll be taxiing from airport to hotel – anywhere nice to stop for lunch on the way? Also booking a boat trip to hopefully see some whales and dolphins.

Stayed here in June. The retreat snacks are enough to see you through lunch, but not necessarily dinner. Drinks – wines, beers, soft drinks, water, coffee, tea, cava. And a soft serve ice-cream machine! Overall, we had a very nice experience.

Think it takes a couple days to show in the app.

Tried to notify BA that they still had not taken Avios for Reward Booking made a couple of weeks back. Cash amount processed and paid, voucher used and e-tickets issued. By phone asked to call back “in an hour’s time” as system was down and they could not see (Avios?) bookings. Was in queue for chat who responded just as I was finishing call. They confirmed system down, “our IT teams working hard to resolve the problem” and to call back in > 24 hours preferably 48 hours. Paraphrasing…please be assured your Avios will be deducted once the issue is resolved. However apparently I need to contact them again – not offering to call back/notify me. Quelle surprise

Does your flight show a ticket number already?

Not clear how the “one ticket” would work? Your query doesn’t state how you get from LHR to MAD and back.

Can you book the return online and call to add it to your outbound (booked using 50% of voucher) [possible with 241] vs calling to book AND add it to our outbound?

Was there ever an answer for this? So essentially book the return full price online then call for an avios refund of the difference? Returning from some locations as a one-way saves a significant sum on surcharges

Any answer to this one? Looking to book the outbound using the voucher now, and then book the inbound when it becomes available in a few weeks time. Are you able to call up afterwards and get the return flight linked to the outbound booking, with the corresponding Avios benefit of using the upgrade voucher returned to your account?

I stayed at the InterContinental Bugis recently and loved how central it was—easy walk to Bugis MRT and lots of local food nearby. The Club Lounge was worth it too.

We have a stay here coming up, and looking forward to it. Any tips on the local food nearby?
