UPDATE
so I called customer services for an update , they have no idea why account is frozen
Before my account was frozen I had over 200k worth of points . When I asked what my balance is as of today , it was short by a few thousands

One unhappy bunny… well buying points off eBay is defo a no no from researching and it seems if caught the account just get closed … looks like I’m stuffed
Oh well let see what they say if I ever get called / emailed back that is
Think I’ll need a back up for my 10 nights booked in October (some prepaid and non refundable)

Update – no news from Marriott corp or anyone else , account still locked
Spoke to my friend , transpires he bought the points online on eBay
Truly p***d as I guess that’s the reason why accounts under review
Will Marriott take pitty or am I stuffed
Should I get him to contact Marriott and tell them (he hasn’t been contacted) or just leave it

He got some points from a friend and another set as an airline transfer …
I’ve asked him where exactly they came from …
He transferred them to me in dec 24 and hasn’t used the account since I believe.
Strange why there is an issue nearly a year later
The link for id did come through later yesterday which I’ve sent them , I called them to see if it had been received and if any light could be shared on what’s happening , they were not sure what was going on and strangely offered 5k of points … very odd
I’ve sent an email into the directors office as me and my wife have certainly not done anything wrong

edit – now when logging into my account – a different message comes up
Your account has been locked. We’ve detected suspicious activity on your account

yes earned 59 nights this year – 10 nights booked next month in HKG. I could log into my account this morning – this afternoon says frozen.. Marriott saying the above ….
roughly 15k from my friend which im sure was in 2024 … under 10k from my wife ( her points earned from hotel stay and also a transfer in from our friend ) spoke to my mate , he has only had 2 or 3 transfers since account opened, 1 of which was an airline points transfer and a couple of transfers from friends but minimal amounts apparently.His account is frozen and from checking now my wife’s account is frozen… not sure whats going on
Im sure Marriott said it was a transfer of points in 2024 which would of been my friends transfer which was around 15k
I have over 200k points and ive booked many hotels coming up due to elite status benefits and the free breakfast , some of which are prepaid and my card charged…wouldnt of booked them otherwise

I’m in the same boat as you . Spent 3K no sign of any points either for all transactions and the welcome bonus , both trackers are also at zero
Plus I have the Amex message under the Monthly fee
I’ve called customer services a few time they don’t really get what I’m saying and say to wait 8 weeks too … the problem is not 1 transaction has earned any points and also like you, I have no pending points too
Not sure what to do or who to escalate too
