I completed this challenge in the summer. I had one itinerary with ITA operated flight with Swiss flight number. It counted as ITA (though I had to chase it manually, as it failed to credit automatically). So not 100% sure if it was as intended, or someone manually counted it as ITA because I sent ITA boarding pass.
In the end, I flew pretty normal itineraries to places I needed to be, but when initially looking to complete it asap, I think it was pretty easy to combine Lufthansa, Lufthansa City, Swiss, ITA and Air Dolomiti in one trip.

No, no checked bags on LH on Economy Light fares for any status holders. I think LO might be the only one in the group that gives both checked luggage and seat selection for status holders on Saver Economy fare.

Had no problems claiming Miles&More from Brussels Airlines earlier this year after they cancelled my flight and rebooked me on BA.

Yes, have flown a fair bit on LH shorthaul in economy this year, and had no problem accessing Lufthansa lounges in LHR, FRA, MUC and BER with Amex Plat.

Probably not worth it, but if eligible, you could get Amex Platinum and get supplementary card for one of your parents?

You should be able to get 120 day Status Match from United (if you haven’t done it before). Not sure if it gives free seat selection on LH, probably should, but not too familiar with Star Alliance.

OSL/ARN/CPH-HEL-LHR with Finnair gives 120TP, and can be booked from ~£250 for next weekend. Still would need to position there and from LHR to AMS.

Double TP on BA Holidays only works on ex-UK flights, so won’t work for OTP-LHR with car.

Avis currently have decent promotion with Miles & More
    https://one.avisworld.com/en_GB/Avis-milesandmore/Offer
Rentals with length of 3 to 5 days earn 4500 bonus miles in addition to the standard miles per status.
Rentals with length of 6 to 10 days earn 6500 bonus miles in addition to the standard miles per status.
Rentals with length of 11 to 14 days earn 7000 bonus miles in addition to the standard miles per status.
Rentals with length of 15 to maximum 28 days earn 8000 bonus miles in addition to the standard miles per status

I need a car in Poland this weekend, and £52 3-day rental is showing as earning 5250 miles. Will see if it credits automatically or needs chasing.
Also have another rental for a weekend in US later this year, where they were also competitively priced, earning another 5250.

If you check Amex statement, or go into transactions and select Additional Information, it should show you the ticket number (starting 125).
You should be able to use this number in Manage My Booking on Finnair website, which should show your booking reference.

LHR-HEL-Sweden/Norway/Denmark return with Finnair is available for around £600.
If all sectors are in Business that would net you 240TP, so still 20 short but might be useful.
ARN-HEL-LHR return a bit cheaper at £491, could position to/from ARN for the remaining 20TP. You should be able to pick A350 for LHR/HEL flights, and if you are Gold you also have Platinum Wing at HEL and Cathay First at LHR T3.

Not sure if I can post links (it’s ticketsale wimbledon com), but if you were unsuccessful with ballot, you should be able to login to mywimbledon and access resale page. There are very limited number of single and pairs of tickets appearing. Lots of refreshing needed, but can currently see No1 Court for day 1 and day 4.

Had a look at my statements, and both this offer and similar on Marriott card triggered ok with payments listed as 3C.

Yes, and if you book on AA website confirmation email should also have bag information. Flying AA LAX-LAS basic economy next week, and email confirmation says:
Checked Bag: 1st Bag No charge; 2nd Bag No charge. Max dimensions 158cm, Max weight 23kg.
I’m also pretty sure 3rd bag is free.

Moxy Heathrow might be the easiest for London (though more expensive than in the regions). It should be available in November for £60ish if booking prepaid nonrefundable rate now.

Have a look on flyertalk in premium mileage run deals section. BUD-HNL fare is discussed there in detail. Best prices are if booked 180 days in advance, but I can see simplest routings available on google flights for £2.5k in November. You might be able to add HEL and East Coast stop. In fact, if you could add East Coast and HEL, and include positioning CE flights to/from BUD, I think that one trip would get you to Gold if done before the end of the year.

Well, looks like it’s finally working with Apple Pay (I’ve not tried paying with it yet, but managed to add it to Apple Pay).

Are you in London? LHR-HEL on Finnair is still available via Kayak/TravelUp for weekends in May for £330ish, which would give you 160TP. Also get to use T3 lounges and possibly A350. Then a domestic/DUB daytrip for remaining 20TP (in anything but the lowest economy, or upgrade one sector in MMB).

Not sure if they have fixed it, but you used to be able to book suites in Mr & Mrs Smith using Creation vouchers. I think there were some extras thrown in for Mr & Mrs Smith bookings too, like bottle of wine/credit/breakfast.

I think these cheap upgrades might be quite common. Was flying LHR-MAD couple of weeks ago. Ticket issued by BA, but flights on IB A350. Upgrade was EUR 55, which I took.Had a look at FT, and it seems in the past people have been offered these at around EUR 50 too.
Edit: Just to add, this was only offered at online check in, and wasn’t available until day before the flight.
