Has anyone had any success doing an open jaw* online in CW?
Booking outbound online at T-355 with voucher (single traveller)
Booking inbound online at T-355 paying highest avios
Calling/online chat/message on X asking for the bookings to be joined and the difference in avios between club and PE on the inbound refunded?
*subject to being within the distance ruled for open jaw
Yes but when I did it out LHR to IAD (Washington) and return from MCO (Orlando) because one was a lower avios cost, they had to cancel and rebook the whole thing so whether that was user error or whether you may need to consider this.
Did they charge you and admin fee for the cancel and rebook?
No as I called up the morning that I booked the return trip.

I have used my BA AmEx 2-4-1 companion voucher for LHR to KUL return in Club – but I would prefer to come back from Singapore.
I don’t have another 2-4-1 voucher, so when I look for Club seats from SIN to LHR, I cannot see any additional seats that would be available with the voucher.
Is there a way to search online for SIN to LHR seats, or do I need to call BA when I want to search?
Thanks. You can ask someone else to have a look but we need some dates?

Seems terrible on iOS safari but better on the app. Another oddity seems to be can get some flights on ba but not on Qatar (like to other Middle East destinations). Can’t believe something is worse than BA!

Maybe try searching without the voucher? And then see what comes up? And then with it? I would then call BA if are differences as others say are definitely seats to Nashville so seems like it’s your account not showing them.
Why would that happen? And if I search them without voucher, how does that help me, as I want to book them with voucher. Surely that means they’ve not released CV BC seats on that flight?
Just trying different things! As I can see flights but you can’t when you search with the voucher . .doing a search doesn’t mean you have to book. What dates for example can’t you see Nashville as seem available to me?

I have been to my lounge and aspire lounge. My lounge is my preferred option. You can pre book this although my lounge didn’t seem too busy when I went in and we walked into the aspire lounge around that time.

So what dates are you looking at? Is your voucher the free one or the premium voucher? I tend to use the avios app as you can filter by cabin, the availability calendar you can’t do that.
On iberia to Buenos Aires personally I would do the stop over every time again personally found the service, product, food and wine (plus flight times) much superior to the BA service we took home!

+1 that if you gently work into conversation that it’s your honeymoon, then (some) staff love to make a fuss. Put it on the notes to your hotel booking(s) too and you will possibly arrive to some mild upgrades and/or gifts.
Congratulations!
Definitely in South Africa many years ago but we got nice upgrades and bottles of wine on our honeymoon – sadly we were only in economy then did get offered some champagne on board though.

I would book a cabana in the Concorde lounge ask at the desk when you go in, nice showers and quieter spot. Also try different parts of the lounge – dining, terrace and bar. Personally if you like Champagne is great as they also now have great English sparkling wine on flyertalk they have what’s currently on board so you can plan ahead.

Last year we did TPA there and back but we only booked maybe this time of year for August as we got extra CV availability seats. Although not sure I’m aiming for old CW again downside to Gatwick departures.

I’ve got seats online from MCO in summer hols, there are other options though Tampa or Miami if things go wrong or they get snapped up.

TfL 20% cashback reappeared this morning on my BA Amex.

You can’t combine the BA and Barclays vouchers, but there’s nothing to stop you travelling as a 3 with you plus 1 on the Amex voucher, and your wife using the Barclays upgrade voucher (if that’s what you get with the World Elite card).
What we have done several times when travelling as 3 is to book a BA Holiday for the 2nd adult, if you need things like extra accommodation and/or car hire with the preferable terms such as a low deposit.
My understanding is that the Barclays upgrade vouchers is a Avios points difference scheme as opposed to simply an upgrade from Economy to PE or Business. And doesn’t include “First”. So I can book business with it at the Avios cost of the next lowest cabin (economy for short haul, for example). I would have to consider if that was better use of Avios than 50pc off Avios for the same class cabin when booking.
The other consideration is what appears from an “availability” perspective when booking as such. I have read somewhere that the 3rd person doesn’t unlock the extra availability options
Do you mean the extra availability on the 50% solo discount? It definitely did around 9 months ago when we booked to Tampa in the summer.

Just got into a very wet SE London bit contrast to sunny Malaga! Ok so I got the bonus in April 2023 (the original one) and downgraded in November 23 so go back up to this one in August 2025, so maybe is a two year limit but my understanding was any Barclaycard would stop getting the 25k one. I have no idea I just did it and got it which was a nice bonus as wasn’t really bothered was just that my Amex BA avios I had already got the companion voucher.

Been in Malaga for a few nights just at the lounge now and saw this. I upgraded in August 2025 and received the bonus in October 2025.

Steve I did this in August this year and I got the bonus from switching.

GOL have cancelled my December flight from Sao Paulo (GRU) to Buenos Aires (AEP). The only alternative is LATAM GRU – EZE, which I have booked.
What’s the best way to get into BA city at 01:30? Uber?
ps. Anyone transferred from TAP to LATAM at GRU: with separate tickets, I presume we can’t interline. With checked bags we would have to go through Brasilian immigration and recheck – and we only have just over three hours.
We are off to Antarctica, and thinking hand luggage only is the best option. Have taken JDB’s advice – both with GOL and LATAM – to book Premium Economy, if only to get off the aircraft first! (But hopefully stretch our hand-luggage allowance!)
Do LATAM gate check, even with a fee? That could be an option too?No problem at all with Uber is a clear pick up zone at EZE.
We flex LATAM in PE loads of space for cabin bags as only two rows.

Just returned from there and Rio last week.
Main issue for us was cash – please take cash with you or USD.
I’ve always used cashpoints but it was impossible to get any more than £30 in one go and the ATM fees were @£18 per transaction. Many smaller shops don’t take card at all.
Oh and I quickly learnt how to use uber for the first time as it wasn’t easy finding taxis that took card payments. We had no issue just with credit cards we did take a couple of $100 bills but never exchanged them . .but we stuck to tourist areas such as bA and Iguacu falls.

@JDB sorry for the reply. Was having a hellish commute with people misbehaving, vaping and being rude on the train. You did not deserve my reaction!
The ticket is for one UK to TOK (lots of seats for Dec 25/Jan 26 btw).
Where is TOK?

Those points seem expensive in relation to others, I got premium for 19000 points so was a no brainier – is currently 41000 back in upper. How many tickets are guy looking to book? That’s why I’m toying with the idea of trying to get a companion voucher but who knows what the cost will be by time I get the voucher.
41k upper is a steal!
Maybe but is in the dreaded coffin seats ha ha.

Where are you flying to and from? Is this for one person or two?
annabh 145 posts
We switched to virgin but in premium economy as was 80000 avios back versus 19000 points. Time of the flight is also a consideration I believe Finnair is overnight whereas virgin is daytime. So saves a day or night if you fly back overnight BUT only if you can sleep. I prefer a daytime flight as we’ll now home to get in our own beds. Now working out whether is a good idea to aim for a companion voucher to get an upgrade to upper but have heard PE on 787 is good.
