Hi, I’ve just realised that there is an error on booking I made a month ago on a hard a reward J booking on a popular route. Either I’ve made a silly mistake or I hit some kind of technical quirk. Probably the former. Essentially both passengers on my booking have my name. One seat should be in my wife’s name.

If I call up, do agents have discretion to put this type of error right (clearly my flight history will consistently show my wife as my exclusive travel buddy in last few years) or am I better off conserving my energy and hope that the seats come back with a rebook? Thankfully hotels are all cancellable.

No status any more so won’t be able to use that.

I would call. Its Christmas time and people are filled with the seasons joy and I would hope they just do it. I have done the same and they did it for me.

If not, well youre no worse off and if push comes to shove you will (a) have to pay something or (b) cancel and rebook hoping the seats slot back into inventory.

As you suspected it was fine. Odd that they are so relaxed about this sort of thing (where they had me over a barrel) but a nightmare about refunding me some incidentals.
