Popping back in to let readers hear of an unexpectedly excellent points return from a one night work stay last week.
Booking a Moxy on a quiet night, last minute, for £79.
Already had the global promotion for 2025 points per stay activated, so was feeling pretty good about the return.
But when I clicked through to the room confirmation, there was an alternative rate available to me, for a LOWER nightly rate (£70), and with 5000 bonus points thrown in as a sweetener.
Assumed this too good to be true, and initially only the 1,231 regular points plus the 2,025 posted.
But today had a lovely email notification of a further 5,000 points added to my account!
8,256 Bonvoys, which I make £41.28 at a 0.5p valuation, for only a £70 stay – and that’s including the VAT. Not a bad day’s work I’d say.
Worth looking if these mystery 5,000 bonuses are still around anywhere perhaps!
There are not infrequently offers with bonus points – more often 2000,but sometimes more as here. I’ve just rebooked a Moxy stay at £63 with 5000 bonus points. Unfortunately the 2025 promotion has finished though
You can find them here, scrollable table halfway down the page https://www.frequentflyerbonuses.com/marriott.html
@Crafty – which Moxy was it? I’ve just booked a similar 5k offer at the NEC version in a couple of weeks’ time.
