Any updates on the rumoured Nectar Bonvoy linkup?
It’s definitely still happening, because we’ve chatted to them about it, but they are being very tight lipped on the terms and exact dates.
I am hoping for 1:1 into Bonvoy which would make sense (given our 0.5p valuation of a Bonvoy point, albeit with upside on a good day). Can Bonvoy justify 1:1 in the other direction though, given they are paying Nectar hard cash?
What’s interesting, of course, is that all Avios credit cards / partnerships etc now become Bonvoy partnerships by default. At 1:1, for example, the free Barclaycard suddenly becomes a free Bonvoy Mastercard earning 1 point per £1, if you’re happy to convert BA to Nectar to Bonvoy and if the rate is 1:1.
Bringing this back up. “Early 2025” has been and gone and not another sound on this. Anyone have any idea if it is still going ahead?

To preserve the 500-odd Bonvoy points I have – and maybe keep the account open – do I link my Nectar and transfer 500 Nectar points, or buy for $5 (and earn 23 points) a walking tour of Edinburgh’s Old Town from Marriot Bonvoy Tours and Activities?
A quick DP on this. The 500 nectar points are being credited 2-3 days after checkout,
so at last Marriott get something right with a promo. Shame it’s only 3 per year

I made my first transfer yesterday, 500 Nectar pts to Marriott.
They credited immediately, and reset my expiry date to 14 February 2028 overnight. (Sometime between 07:00 and 13:00 UK time).
Had 2 stays this year and not had any nectar points awarded, so I’m redacting the praise I gave above.
IIRC you have to wait a full year to earn again, it’s not calendar year.
The year refreshes on the 17 July according to the terms and conditions – no idea why such a random date

That’s when it started. I’d forgotten, and was wondering where my nectar points were for my first stay this year.
