Melia Circle Program – any thoughts

Hi all

Hope you had a good Christmas. We were in Palma for a short break last week, stayed at the Melia Palma Marina (recommend it). Whilst there, I was approached by one of their brand ambassadors, last day of our stay we had a 40min sales pitch from a circle program exec. From what it appears, it’s not a timeshare but does have some similarities. For approx 5k£ we were being offered 50k points, 2 week stay in one of their hotels (choice of 16, some hotels depending of room type and season might be 1 week instead of 2, having said that, it is possible to do 2 weeks during school hols) additionally, 2k$ to use via circle program website to book a non-Melia hotel, 20% discount vouchers etc (similar to what is offered with Melia Gold).

I am seriously thinking of trying it out(as long as the sums add up). There is a 2 year minimum sign up, after which it can be cancelled with 14 day notice (written in contract). I was interested to know if anyone in the HfP community has first hand experience of this program and if they would recommend it? TIA.

Thanks. Looked through the FB pages and been working out the sums. For 4k (revised offer) it is possible to get value. Looking at a week stay during school hols at the Melia Sancti Petri in Cadiz for a family would be 2.5-3k. Sitting on the fence still.
