Agent at COT confirmed to me that they are well advanced introducing Emirates as transfer partner in addition to Avios and Virgin.

    Another enhancement for the card.

That’s good news. I wonder whether the transfer rate will be the same as Avios/Virgin points given the recent Emirates Amex transfer rate cut? Next on the wishlist is another hotel transfer partner

Interesting. Whilst EK redemptions are increasingly poor value to the mileage needed and the taxes added, I can see that some very high spenders (who may be less bothered about the miles needed) will find it a useful addition.

You can’t fully trust CoT to set a good conversion ratio because they don’t have anyone on the staff who is as clued up as a long term HfP reader – look at their Radisson conversion rate – so let’s hope they can agree a good deal. It would give them an advantage over Amex Business if it was 1:1.

Yes, I’m not sure I’ll be converting to Emirates (not a high CoT spender and my much chunkier personal Amex MR pot certainly isn’t going to Emirates since the devaluation), but another option for CoT is always welcome.

Surprised to hear that CoT aren’t as savvy on the rewards front as one would assume. I’m sure there’s plenty of HfP’rs who’d provide them with some consultancy if required!

Indeed, a half hour chat on the phone with Rob would probably be all they need.
More choice is always good but it would have to be unusually generous or have some sort of launch offer attached to gain serious traction I think.
