Got a BA premium amex with £5k or so of spend on it. Can I downgrade it to a standard BA card for now to safe fees (most spend will be going to hit a platinum SUB) then upgrade the BA card before the end of my membership year if we are close to hitting the spend to get the BA companion voucher?
You can try but there’s no guarantee of being accepted for either. I don’t personally think it’s worth it when the benefits are worth so much more than the fee.
Thanks. That’s a good point, but I struggle to get great value from the companion voucher at the moment 🙁 It’s useful, but not worth asking much to me as to some.
If I am approved for the downgrade and upgrade, my total spend should be retained?
