Forums Payment cards Other payment cards Curve: constantly blocking transactions

WTF is up with Curve at the moment. They keep blocking transactions with really boring vanilla retailers – IHG (for which they had a cashback offer), British Gas, like really boring, all in GBP (never a block on my transactions in China or Uzbekistan or Turkey or…). There is a pop-up saying it’s suspicious, then they say your card is blocked until you contact Support… But of course, there IS no support, just a useless chatbot. The whole entire point of paying a top-tier subscription is so that you get a premium service… For the last few months, it has been a complete PITA…

@kt74 – mine working fine for three €uro transactions today and we haven’t seen general reports (and you report problems over months…), so it looks as though it may be specific to your account. Did you respond to the recent KYC/AML information request?

The retailers may be vanilla and boring, but has your previous usage of the card been just as vanilla and boring?

If you’ve previously used your card in an irregular fashion or unusual spend amounts in unexpected places [MS, for example] then you may find that regular transactions begin to have red flags attached to them.

If however your card usage has been regular/boring and you have used the card at regular and boring retailers, then by all means contact the email address @Harrier25 has supplied and explain your transaction issues – Curve will eventually get around to answering your email.

As @JDB has said, respond to any KYC/AML emails you might have lurking in your inbox.
