Suggestions please for somewhere to go in August that’s warm/hot but dry and cheap for accommodation, food and drinks. Can be short haul or long as we have lots of Avios. Needs to be somewhere BA fly to. Thanks
Canaries can be a good deal because they’re traditionally a winter destination. Temperatures can be lower than mainland Europe in the height of summer and the Atlantic breeze also keeps it comfortable. Prices are very reasonable, especially outside the resort areas.
You’ll probably need to be on the ball to get avios seats, however, as the islands have been becoming more popular in the school summer holidays in recent years.
Cadiz? Less than 2hr train ride from Seville, lots of nice and affordable rental flats in the city centre, usually good weather, and lots of high quality and affordable places to eat out and to drink (lots of great fish and seafood, and sherry). It’s a lovely historic city, too.
You’ll find cheaper options if you head further east in Europe or go long haul. Cadiz could be a fun option, though.
