Forums Other Airport lounges Birmingham lounges

I only gained access to lounges accidentally when pre booked trips with BA gained double tier points and I was genuinely blown away by the whole experience. Now I’m back down to bronze and regaining silver is unlikely, I took out a new credit card with priority pass included. My theory being £180 for both of us to get in is far better value than £860+! If we don’t make much use of the benefits over the year I’ll revaluate my options. I admit, I got a taste of a better, overall travel experience and I’d like to keep it although I know contract lounges aren’t always the best…

Back to my actual question though, I’m taking my girlfriend to Edinburgh for her birthday in February with easyJet from Birmingham airport.

Am I right in thinking the best lounge to use would be the clubrooms and if so, is it worth pre-booking it? We’ll be at the airport around 8AM if it makes any difference?

    Thank you

Yes, Clubrooms is the best (paid) option, but I found they no longer offer a premium experience (now expecting self service for certain things). So I’ve been sticking with No 1 lounge.

Clubrooms has the best reputation, but I don’t bother with BHX lounges, they are a poor experience and I prefer to sit in one of the quiet corners of the airport instead.

How busy do the lounges at Birmingham tend to be early evening? Do they tend to accept priority pass cards without reservations then?

(I’m wondering if I should use one of my Amex pre-bookings before an 8pm flight, or if I can chance it and save the pre-booking for another trip)

Personally clubrooms is always a decent experience at BHX it’s not luxury but definitely better than the standard one.

In the evening it’s usually fine but the morning always pre book

I read they are opening a new lounge this summer wonder who will operate and what level

Clubrooms at BHX now allow kids of any age in I think if they are flying on an airline they contract with, which is a bit much to be honest when they have no family-friendly facilities.

As for whether you’re ok at 8pm, I would guess you will be – BHX seems far worse in the morning – but is the risk that you keep thinking “i’ll save this just incase” then never end up using the passes? No. 1 didn’t seem that busy midweek late afternoon last month as I walked pst.

Note the entrance to No. 1 appears to have moved to a more suitable location, so you enter down a wide corridor off to the left of that walkway up to the 40s & 50s gates, rather than the old narrow one down by WH Smiths.

Thanks for your replies, we ended up in the aspire lounge 🤦. It was nice and quiet at the time and we both got a decent breakfast.

My only draw backs were the seats seem to be lower than the windows so looking out at the planes required a meerkat position and I felt like an idiot walking up and down twice to discover there were no toilets, you had to leave and use the main terminal ones.
Anyone care to shed any light as to why that’s the case, my guess is it’s a cost saving exercise?
