Hi all,
I currently hold an Amex Gold card, which is coming up for annual renewal later this month. I plan to cancel the gold card before incurring the annual fee and switch to the BAPP.
I see the current bonus offer on BAPP is the standard 30K Avios on 6K spend over first 3 months. I am wondering if there’s a better offer on the cards for BAAP soon? Trying to understand if there’s a particular time of the year they normally announce joining offers for BAAP? trying to decide if it is worth waiting for a better offer before joining. I can see in the past there was offer for 60K Avios bonus!, which sounds amazing 🙂
Also wanted to check if a referral can offer better bonus or not?
Many Thanks
Good thing you didn’t ask on Facebook – you’d be getting bombarded with messages offering you 33k!
Yeah – they’ll like be a 50 or 60k one soon-ish. 3-4 weeks. They tend to rotate (core gold/plat –> partner cards like BA —-> core etc etc), we’re currently in core.

Ah ok!, good to know that. Thank you.
If there is an offer (and we haven’t heard of one) it will only be available via ba.com. Amex won’t publicly advertise it and we will be restricted from publicising it. Amex is desperate to get people off the cobrand cards.

Rob could you elaborate on Amex being desperate to get people off the co-brand cards? I have a BAPP plus a Barclaycard Avios Mastercard. I’m interested in only one thing, travelling Business Class to Perth to visit my daughter every January. Why are these cards under threat?
