BA has flights from Nice to London City, Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted this summer, are some flights air bridge to aircraft and some by bus to the aircraft?
@Richie – yes! The LHR/LGW flights most commonly use airbridges but there are a limited number at NCE T1, so it can be a bus. The smaller STN aircraft will more likely be on a bus. No particular pattern which also depends on whether BA flights or other airlines using the air bridges are operating on time.
I came back from Nice middle of last month to LCY and we were bussed to a remote stand at Nice
Thanks for replying. I really don’t like bussing to the aircraft, I would’ve thought it would be all air bridges at Nice.
Flight back in March to and from LHR was with air bridge.
At LCY there are no air bridges.
Even at LHR an air bridge isn’t guaranteed.
I’ve also been bussed at LGW in BA SH flights.
BA has 11 departures from Nice on Friday, some may have passengers bussed from the terminal to the aircraft, it really is poor that BA and Nice airport haven’t got their act together to offer a premium service when most passengers are paying premium fares. At least there’s a tram to Nice airport and a navette can be avoided.

With the best will in the world, there are simply insufficient air bridges at NCE T1 even to accommodate all BA’s flights many of which are closely bunched together. BA also isn’t the only premium airline using the small number air bridges on the non-Schengen side of T1.
Do EK’s A380 premium passengers get air bridges?
Do EK’s A380 premium passengers get air bridges?
All the EK passengers usually get an air bridge but that applies also to BA mainline, QR, TK, LH, UA etc. The long haul flights, partly by virtue of their limited number, might get a gate most of the time and they anyway use a slightly different area. There are physically not enough gates for every flight to get an air bridge every time. Even DOH is short of gates like LHR so uses buses quite regularly for reasons of capacity or convenience.
At NCE, if there are delays such that an aircraft overstays on an air bridge stand, that obviously reduces the limited capacity further.
